You would need to be careful when kicking these shoes off, Ginnie...you might bruise a fellow traveller's ankles.
Ginnie Hart: Very true, Ray. Very true!
that is a whole bunch of wooden shoes Ginnie... but i am interests in the old children's wooden push cart....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: That's a Flying Dutchman, Peter. Astrid says she had one as a child and could really FLY in it. smile
Thanks so much Ginnie!! I intend to and am sooooo looking forward to it!! smile
I love your image - this is so great!
Ginnie Hart: I was thinking of you introducing Frank to this holiday, Elizabeth. Have a great day!

A quick glance at your thumbnail, and it looked like ducklings on water, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Well, that's one way to see it, Lisl. HA! I love the thought. smile

Ginnie Hart: More Dutch you cannot get, Philine. smile Bedankt.

Love the wooden Dutch car in the background Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: That's a Flying Dutchman, Chris, according to Astrid. She had a modern one as a child and said she could really make it fly. I can just see it, can't you??!! grin
Beautiful collection! Happy Labor day at all my american friends
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marie. Thank you! smile

HA, great shot of all the klompen, that makes a lot of noise on the floor smile
The toy in the back is called 'a flying Dutchman' I had one, a modern version of it.

Ginnie Hart: This wasn't my original image for today, Astrid, but when I remembered it was Labor Day in America, I changed it to this, which seemed more appropriate. I loved that room at the museum where you could try to find your own wooden-shoe size. smile

If you wear such shoes you can't sink, Ginnie! Nice day!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Now that's an idea for walking on water, HF! smile
Sounds like a good idea Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I agree, Bill.

I think it would be welcome relief to kick these off Ginnie, but I am told hey are more comfortable than they look!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, they are, according to Astrid, Mike. She wore them to school her entire 11th year, just to be different. I bet you can picture it! smile

As interesting as the clogs are, my eyes are immediately drawn to the wooden trolley thing. It looks like the sort things we used to make as nippers with old pram wheels, etc.
Ginnie Hart: That's a "flying Dutchman," Alan. Astrid had a modern version of one as a child and supposedly could make it fly! smile
Wonderful collection Ginnie.
Happy Labor Day to my family and friends living in America!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard. I had no idea you, too, have family and friends in America!

This is weird Ginnie, the people seem to be invisible, at least on my computer.
Ginnie Hart: LOL, Chad. Your computer really loves acting up, doesn't it! smile
Canadians celebrate it too but I have to work. Is it celebrated in Europe?
Ginnie Hart: Aha. I wondered if anyone else celebrated it, Mary. I think England had a bank holiday the other week, but here in mainland Europe, I don't think this is a day of importance?!
Oh it's 1st of May in Malaysia!
But there's no Labour Day in England! Ha ha...
Ginnie Hart: You just have a Bank Holiday, LC, that's all! Wasn't that a week ago? smile
I had a pair of clogs once upon a time - they were very comfortable.
Ginnie Hart: I have a feeling if you wear them often and get used to them, Tom, they're very comfortable!
fun image! Will do!
Ginnie Hart: Good for you, Robin!
I am celebrating by not working... and at this moment I am in my stocking feet. I have a barbecue to go to later, so I guess the shoes must go on... smile
Ginnie Hart: Some of the time with shoes off is better than no time at all, Larry. Have fun.
PS. Do they have little tiny wooden shoes for cats?
Ginnie Hart: Yes, but they have magnets on the back of them, Larry! grin
If I kicked off my shoes I would hit my cat...
Ginnie Hart: Ouch! We don't want any animal abuse today, Larry.
If it's Labor Day why isn't all America hard at it - working.
Ginnie Hart: You're thinking too hard, Martin! smile
nice variety of shoes, Ginnie, in different stages of wear. wooden shoes (clogs) used to be big in Singapore too, for wet weather.
Ginnie Hart: They have stood the test of time, Ayush, in many places, it seems. smile
I'd love to try a pair of clogs on just the once if they make them in an English size 11.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, I'm very sure you'd be able to find your size, Brian! smile

Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! These are things you gotta pay attention to, Frank. smile

These clogs seem to have been delightfully abandoned smile
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Cherry, they're in a room of many more clogs of all different sizes where you can go find your size and try walking in them. smile
Happy labour day to you!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. It came and went so quickly.
i'm sure that Astrid would fly past all the boys on the block on her Flying Dutchman Ginnie...
but it doesn't even look like a ghost ship smile ....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Astrid was able to out-smart and out-bully any guy her age or older, Peter. The boys quickly learned to make her a friend so that she'd always be on their side! (The stories I have been told!!!) And yes, she could out-fly them, too, on her Flying Dutchman. smile
you should wear a pair of those Ginnie! the 'earthing' connection might help you smile i have an earthing sheet on my bed.... love this shot, it looks so happy, like a party is going on smile
Ginnie Hart: That open-air museum is the best I've ever seen, Elaine. You'd love it! smile
