Dressing up is a nice thing when you are a kid.

In old times, the traditional clothes showed also the wealth of the farmers, the more cold on the head-wear of women, the more wealthier the family. The gold and silver stayed with the family.
Ginnie Hart: I have just added your link to my text up above, MLMA. Thank you for it. This was one of the best things I saw that day at this open-air museum!
So cute!!! What lovely photos!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. They stole my heart...of course. smile

They look to be enjoying dressing up, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Some of us still enjoy doing it ourselves, Lisl. grin

These delightful children are demonstrating cloggidge in such a photogenic way Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Chris. It took the boy some figuring out while his sister tried to help him. They were so charming together, willingly playing their classic parts for Mommy and Daddy. I was graciously given permission to join the party. smile

So cute and sweet - ja, zo kunnen alleen maar Hollandse meisjes en jongentjes eruit zien!
Ginnie Hart: It is indeed precious, Philine!
Delightful Ginnie. They look unused to clogs though!
Ginnie Hart: The boy had a time of it in the beginning, Bill, until he got the hang of it. His little sister was so sweet and patient.

I love Astrid's image today, the bird with its eye closed as they kiss turns it into a rather erotic image
Ginnie Hart: I'll make sure Astrid sees this, Chris. That entire sequence was very powerful. Wait till she gets to Friday! smile

Ginnie Hart: This was priceless to watch, Marie. The parents were next to me and graciously gave me permission to snap away. It took the boy a bit of practicing before he got the hang of the clogs, but before long brother and sister were a happy pair.

Ginnie Hart: I will make sure Astrid knows this, Philine. Thank you.

They seem to enjoy the experience of trying to wear clogs; does not look easy for them by the look of it.
Ginnie Hart: It took a bit of practicing for the boy, Alan, but with his sister cheering him on, it finally was a GO. smile So fun to watch.
Funny. They look like they're practicing judo in clogs.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA. Well, that's a thought, Michael. smile

Better than T-Shirt and Jeans! smile
Ginnie Hart: LOL. In certain situations, definitely, HF. smile
I can hear the clomp of wood on cobbles from here (currently France), a charming image.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Martin. I can still hear it myself. (What are you doing in France, pray tell???)
Were they having a little dance as well?
Ginnie Hart: They were very happy to just be walking in a straight line, Mary. HA!
Really? Are you sure it's Dutch not Amish? He he... How come her Dutch maid cap does not have the pointed top and wings? wink
Ginnie Hart: Must be a different province, LC. There are 12 of them, you know! smile
This is so cute Ginnie! Great montage.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Richard. Tlak about being in the right place at the right time! smile

this would have been a dream come true for me as a child!! great pics!!!
Ginnie Hart: You would really love this museum, then, Elaine. We may need to go back since I know we missed a LOT!
Don't they both look just terrific, bottom left is a great photo.
Ginnie Hart: I was in heaven watching them, Brian, as were their parents, I'm sure. What a fun memory for them...as well as for me! Thank you.
They look much better than modern gear!
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Tom. Most charming.
it sounds like a wonderful museum Ginnie... kids just love to dress up...
Penny keeps a trunk full of old clothes and costumes and the grandkids seem to get every thing out on the floor to mix and match their outfits....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Peter. This is a child's delight!
Just perfect!
Ginnie Hart: They were so darling, Robin!

And very swanky they look too - marvelous!
Ginnie Hart: I bet they even felt swanky, Mike. smile
How very cute.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Michael. Thanks.
These cuties look very authentic in their costumes, Ginnie. Could very well have stepped out of time warp. Love every image you've captured for this collage.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Beverly. They were such good sports for their parents, seemingly loving every minute of their dress-up gig. smile
