Great image and perfect reflections in monochrome Ginnie... i took some pictures of this when we were walking with Lisl... i was going to post it but i forgot what she told me it was... something Roman i thinkgrin....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I have no clue what it is, Peter, and couldn't find it when I Googled. I should have asked Lisl or Chris! Thanks.
Beautiful image, Ginnie!! Love this! I'll read Astrid tomorrow!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Elizabeth. V&V is closing its doors on the 23rd, so this is Astrid's last post there. Mine was at the end of June. I'm glad you were able to get in under the wire!

I imagine this scene in the 1920's. The horse and carriages taking the fancy ladies to the garden for high-tea. Afterwards they sit here in the shade to gossip....
Great treatment. Happy memories to a very nice walk.
Ginnie Hart: I like your imagination for this image, MLMA. It was such a wonderful walk that day, wasn't it! Bedankt.
fantastic image of this fine bandstand Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush. It was very hard to miss.
That really is a lovely shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kins sir.

Grand isn't it Ginnie. I see this thing so often I don't take much notice of it any more
Ginnie Hart: I loved Bradford on Avon, Chris...all of it. I tried to Google what this "thing" is called and probably should have written you/Lisl to find out. I have no clue/remembrance but I sure liked it.

This is a "summmerhouse" in the garden of a rather grand house, whose gardens sweep down to the river. I am not sure of the date, but suspect it is Victorian. Love your version of it, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: So glad to find out what it is, Lisl. Thank you! As you can tell, I fell in love with it. smile

Oh, I recall this building - but you made a Stourhead-like 18th century garden temple of it- wonderful!
Ginnie Hart: I love that so many of us have now seen it, Philine. It's so wonderful to think about having walked by that same place as you! Bedankt.

Hahaa.. as long as it's not sunk! Is this the river entrance to Sir Tiff's mansion?
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure Tiff will gladly claim it as his, Alan. smile
I bet a waterfront like this doesn't come cheap Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: My guess is not, Bill!!!

I've just read Astrid's V & V piece. Her and I sound quite similar in many respects!

Why is V & V closing down?
Ginnie Hart: Astrid would love for you to leave a comment there, Alan, if you're able? It's a long story about why we're closing down but the most recent catalyst was the recent death of our leader's mother...and her son's upcoming wedding. We've been at it for almost 5 years and I think those of us who've been there from the start just feel it's time. (sigh)

Beautiful reflections Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Sarah.
Ha ha! I remember this.
You won't miss this structure along the canal. The barns (a big wooden one, plus two smaller shops).
Ginnie Hart: Hmmmm. I don't remember the barns at all, LC...just this. It's amazing what we DON'T see when we think our eyes are open!

Ah - the non-boat boat photograph. But then things are always slower by the canal ;o)
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Mike. So glad you get it. smile
Calm and serene, Ginnie, that's a shame that V&V is closing.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Frank, I know, but it's been a long time in existence...almost 5 years. For those of us who've been there from the beginning, it's been a long time. But it's all good, closing with a bang, you could say.

Reminds me of the ancient Greeks, Ginnie. Lovely place for rest and recreation.
Ginnie Hart: I agree on both accounts, HF. Thanks.
You've given this idyllic scene such a lovely timeless feel, Ginnie. Wonderful light with the reflections standing out so clear & crisp. The monochrome treatment was the perfect choice.
Ginnie Hart: As always, Beverly, you're so up-building! Thank you.
Lovely spot you found at Bradford-on-Avon, somewhere we haven't been. It's so good one can hardly see where the reflection actually starts.
Ginnie Hart: I love that there are places like this, Brian, that so many of you know about or have already seen. We feel very lucky. Thank you.
Wonderful reflective shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Janet.
wow Ginnie...My day is now getting better with this picture.. THank you
Ginnie Hart: How sweet of you, Ronky. Thank you.
I'm sitting up, waiting for it to turn up - a very intriguing image, Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! I had to say something, Martin. grin
What a glorious image Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Richard.
