I think they would go through shallow puddles very nicely, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Ray. Very nicely. smile Thanks.
Brilliant angle and lighting, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thank, Elizabeth. I was down at the canal looking up to the bridge above before climbing up the stairs to the street level.
Cracking photo ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Very kind of you, Shane. Thanks.

Absolute fabulous shot, love the panorama look. Great silhouettes. Great light.
It reminds me of this picture http://picturit.shutterchance.com/image/2008/02/05/de-oude-gracht---the-old-canal/
Ginnie Hart: The picture you took in 2008 is so much on the same page, isn't it...6 years ago. WOW! It must have been in my subconscious!!! smile Hartstille bedankt.

You make simple subjects into great photos, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: And you always build me up and encourage me, Lisl, for which I thank you!

I hope you will be able to get out for a bike ride this weekend Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Probably not this weekend, Chris, but one weekend soon, I hope. Actually, Astrid plans an errand Sunday on her bike instead of running, so at least half of us will be riding. smile

Two or three fietsen - a fine observation taken against the sun, Blackginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, dear Philine. To the left of this image are the house barges from the museum under this bridge: http://ginniehart.shutterchance.com/image/2014/01/31/boat-friday/

I like the strong silhouettes here Interesting to see big locks being used; I thought people could just leave their bikes with just leaving a small "token" lock?

No riding for me this weekend sad The bike is in for some TLC as the rear brake is permanently on now and makes cycling difficult. I do have thighs of steel now, though smile
Ginnie Hart: We see the regular bike locks, Alan, all the time, where the bikes are not locked to anything. A pick-pocket could easy swipe the bike and unlock it, I'm sure. But for those less trusting? The bigger locks do come in handy, where you'd have to take the railing with you, I presume...or have big chain cutters.

I'm very sure you DO have thighs of steel, which will be itching to ride your bike soon!

What a great title Ginnie ... How on earth did you think it up
Ginnie Hart: Just call me Ms. Klepto, Richard. grin
Very nice silhouette. Could be you are standing in a boat.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Mary. Actually, I was standing down by the canal NEXT to the barges. smile
Very good Ginnie. An unusual angle
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. Looking up to the bridge from the canal.
I like the lighting made special in B&W; simply beautiful Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: You're always so kind, Martin. Thank you.
A perfect composition against the light! really good Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Roland.
Another fine B.& W.image today, I have already enjoyed Mike's and Frank's and now another good one.
Ginnie Hart: That's very kind of you, Brian. Thank you.

Blue sky, +20°C - best conditions for cycling! Let's roll, Ginnie! ;-)
Ginnie Hart: HA! Let's do it!!! smile
Bikes! Yea!
I believe they've got more bikes than boats in the NL. wink
Ginnie Hart: You may be right about that, LC!
I love it Ginnie! regardless of it being Bike Friday!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ronky. smile Boat or Bike...as long as we get moving, right?! smile
Lovely silhouette!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Tom.
Superb backlight shot Ginnie!
Enjoy the weekend.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Richard.

I love the B&W. The photo really sets the mood for a relaxing weekend on the trails, I think. Is that what you'll be doing? smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Emily. We had a great weekend in the sun, with great temps in the 50sF. We even went to the nearby sheep fold to see 230 of the 250 lambs being born right now. What a show!
You could have fooled me Ginnie. It looks like the bikes are resting on the top of a big boat... maybe ; )
Ginnie Hart: Well, the boats were underneath them, for sure. HA! Thanks, Jacquelyn.
Maybe that should be for silhouette Saturday. Very nice shot. (Enjoy your weekend.)
Ginnie Hart: That'll work, Michael.... smile And thanks. It was a great weekend with lots of sun!

Excellent contre jour

Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, JP. Merci.
it would appear that the owner of the bike is in the habit of carrying a portable lamp grin
Ginnie Hart: A portable lamp always comes in handy, Ayush. grin
Great silhouettes and details!
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Wolfgang.
So love this in b&w!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Robin. See, I'm trying. smile
