It must be Monday... i have never seen a heron with such a grouchy look Ginnie!!... great image....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: He's all hunkered down, Peter, and needs to wake up, I'm afraid! Thanks.
This is fantastic, Ginnie! Even more so for the distance and the fog!
Ginnie Hart: I was still in the early days of checking out what this camera can do, Elizabeth, and was quite pleased. Thank you.
nice, grainy texture in the image. very effective. this heron needs a flask of steaming coffee!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ayush. I LOVE your idea. smile
Love the grainyness of this....great shot
Ginnie Hart: A little bit of fog and texture will do wonders for graininess, Shane. smile Thanks.
I love herons! that seems to sulk smileJ'aime le traitement de votre photo.
Ginnie Hart: I love herons, too, Magali. We see a lot of them here in Dutchland. Thank you.

Now this appeals, Ginnie - I have been trying to get a good Heron photo for years, and you come up with this!!
Ginnie Hart: We see herons all the time here, Lisl, but they're usually waaaaaay out in the polder...or they fly there the minute I start approaching them to take their picture. So I do know exactly what you mean. I guess my new camera is coming to my rescue?

We often see herons like this, feathers up, neck in, not in a good mood (maybe) no frogs around to chaise.
Gobsmacked!!!!!! Love the texture.
Ginnie Hart: And I didn't even know it was a heron till you told me! I'm still learning about these things and I love it. Bedankt, MLMA.

Ginnie Hart: Very kind of you, Chris. Thank you.
Wow this is some distance shot, he/she does look exceedingly fed up with the weather
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Martin. I wonder what he would have looked like if I had been closer? smile

Wonderful! Better, probably, because of the fog. It seems to have hunched shoulders. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan. Because it was hunched, I had no clue it was a heron till Astrid told me. You can fool some of the people some of the time...!

Excssssellent.

He is outstanding, but will catch no frog if he doesn't get down to business.
Ginnie Hart: Thnaks, Louis. I think once he hunkered down he fell asleep on the spot! smile
Excellent bw, grainy texture excellent, nice day to you Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Roland.
Real characterful birds, Herons........a brilliant shot Ginnie! I do like the grainy look, it suits his shabby look smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. He seemed ready and willing to weather the storm. smile

Love this image. Looks like a drawing rather than a photo. The gull in back is a nice foil.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Mary. I think the gull turned his back on us for a reason. smile
Ha ha, she's just an attention seeker. wink
Ginnie Hart: And you know that because....???? HAHAHA! grin

Blimey it is making us think that it is cold and miserable.

you clever ol' thing Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Rats! Caught in the act! grin
I noticed the hunch of its shoulders, it must have been cold I presume.
Ginnie Hart: Well, it was cold and damp, Brian, which is often a colder cold than just plain cold. And I know you know what I mean!
I love the processing on this Ginne... Kinda makes it look like an oil painting! And the heron does look sleepy... smile
Ginnie Hart: You're most kind, Sudipto. Thank you. Mondays tend to be kinda sleepy for a lot of us, I think. smile

1200 mm, wow! super far! but it is a beautiful capture - excellent framing
we guess the seagull at the bottom! beautiful picture I try to guess color! Congratulations Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It's what I call a magic camera, Pat, indeed. At 1200 mm photography has given me new meaning. HA! It really comes in handy for the weathervanes I "collect" all over Europe. smile
Wow, Ginnie, if this is any indication of what your new camera can do, I can understand why you would be quite pleased with it. Love the artistic pencil sketch look you've given it, also.
Ginnie Hart: My magic camera, Beverly, indeed. It keeps surprising me. Thanks for noticing. These herons are so elusive here in Dutchland. Maybe now I can finally catch up with them? smile
