I love how you look up, and find the most wonderful things, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: You're kind, Ray. Often there is a reward. smile
He's sailing over the edge of the world >> oh no! It's going to be a slippery slide.
Ginnie Hart: These things happen in the strangest places, Jacquelyn. smile

Great shot and it is amazing how much art is 'under the ground' in New York.
I love the colour of the tiles. I might be a Dutch boat, going to New Amsterdam (New York)
Ginnie Hart: I loved all the art we saw in the subway, MLMA. Let's just assume it IS a Dutch boat! smile

a beautiful Art Deco wall - and a wonderful find! The art deco wall we saw in Gorinchem cannot compete with these tiles.
Ginnie Hart: I love that you notice such things, Philine...like the column you pointed out in Gorinchem. You have good eyes! Thank you.

I do hope this is restored at some stage Ginnie. A great spot by you.
Ginnie Hart: The subway art seemed well taken care of, Chad. I was most impressed! Thanks.

Perhaps it is in better condition than I originally thought.
Ginnie Hart: I think so, Chad?!

Ginnie Hart: Actually, there's really nothing more, Ayush....because we didn't spend a lot of time there. We mostly walked! But thanks!

Even before I saw the title, I thought that this was the Underground.. looks like I'm close to the means of transport if not close geographically. I can just imagine the Hudson above (Do Subway lines go under the river? I've only been above it on bridges).
Ginnie Hart: I had no clue about the subway, Alan, so I Googled and this is what I found out: "New York City subways do not go to New Jersey, hence, none of the subway lines run under the Hudson River. Several subway lines run under the East River..." So, there you have it! smile
Love this, Ginnie. Gorgeous colours. Puts the London Tube to shame.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Pauline. I don't know about putting the London Tube to shame, though. I'm sure it has some splendid art somewhere??!!
Ha ha... I didn't even see anything like this in Venice.

Can you imagine a tunnel full of gondoliers echoing the song "O Sole Mio"?

Disaster! He he...
Ginnie Hart: LOL, LC. You are way too much. grin

I love the golden boat that you can jump into if the subway system ever floods. It did in Toronto last year.
Ginnie Hart: What a great idea, Mary...in case of an emergency! smile

Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ronky. It was his time. He lived a good life.
Aren't they magnificent colours. A lovely Boat Friday from NY subway Ginnie and I like how you brought Nelson Mandela into the picture. One of Earth's great guys
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Janet. I didn't bring in Nelson Mandela here till after I made the connection on FB. But thanks.
Certainly a very decorative subway.
Ginnie Hart: I would love to go around one day and try to find all the art on the NYC subway lines, Brian!
Nelson certainly has smile

Great find and shot Ginnie! I bet when you saw that boat you thought of Fridays on SC grin
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Martin. I immediately thought of Boat Friday! smile Don't you love how that happens! smile

Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Elizabeth. smile
Hope you're doing something fun! xo
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Robin, we're driving north to the coast for a 3p Classic Christmas Concert in the Martinikerk in Bolsward (for which we got tickets for half price at the Dutch auction site). We'll leave early to eat lunch there and walk around first...a small town:
