Amazing shot Ginnie! I love the contrast. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frances. The open umbrella that day really was striking. It had just been raining the last couple of days. smile

This is excellent, Ginnie...and would be so even without the brolly.
Ginnie Hart: That's most kind of you, Ray. Thank you. smile
They should paint the church in those colors.

Ginnie Hart: Our minds are on the same path, Michael, and I LOVE the link. I am very familiar with Boswell's work in this historical area. smile

It isn't shining here today Ginnie, far from it. A fine picture of contrasts you have here
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Chris, I think after a few days of wind and cool temps it's supposed to get "raving hot," according to Astrid, starting tomorrow. It rained throughout last night.

We could use that here today, Ginnie, but it looks so good, it would be sacrilege to remove it
Ginnie Hart: It had been raining in Budapest the previous days, Lisl, and someone had left their umbrella open there on the church steps...while the sun was out. It would have indeed been a sacrilege to remove or close it!

Ginnie Hart: Many kind thsnks, Marie. It did stick out like a sore thumb. Hard to miss. smile Merci.

A wonderful selective colouring and the lines of the railing and the steps echo somehow the stripes of the umbrella. A great photo!

From today on we'll expect a new Sahara-heat - that's not my page, to be honest!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Philine. Astrid says it'll start being "raving hot" here by tomorrow, so I guess you'll be sending it on to us. UGH. I don't do hot very well either, I'm afraid.

Astrid's image is also fantastic - one of her best ones!
Ginnie Hart: Astrid has just seen this comment, Philine. But did you know that you can send her a comment (even though she doesn't have comments activated) by clicking Send Card and you can then put in her info to send her what you want to say. She's under the weather right now, fighting a sinus infection and cold. sad

WOW, this is a fabulous shot and I love the selective colouring.
Keep the umbrella in reach, for today, you might need it.
Great grey tones!
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. We might need the umbrella for the heat wave you say is coming tonight and tomorrow!
nice idea and brilliant result for this conversion
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Ayush.

Terrific use of the selective colour again Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Aussie. (Did we just miss your birthday?????)
That's brilliant, Ginnie. The lines, the colours, just wonderful.
Ginnie Hart: Kindest thanks, Pauline!

An attractive umbrella Ginnie, carefully displayed by you. The sun is always shining above the clouds.
Ginnie Hart: Of course, you know I didn't touch the umbrella, Chad. smile And yes, the sun is always there, even when we think not!
Lines, lines and more lines!
I really like your theme today. smile
The colourful brolly, of course, is fantastic!
Yours? wink
Ginnie Hart: No, not mine, LC. In fact, I never touched it. smile Many thanks.

I agree with everyone, this is a fantastic shot and composition! I think it's my favorite selective coloring ever.

p.s. Did you color that umbrella? It reminds me of your anatomy coloring book. smile
Ginnie Hart: Awwww. Thank you, dear Ruth. Actually, the umbrella is exactly as it was, even the placement. I just did the selective colting. smile (I LOVED that anatomy coloring book!!!)
Isn't it amazing the things we find in our photography adventures! Love the color contrast!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Robin...and thank you!

Excellent, eye-catching shot.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Mary!
Quite a dazzling brolly. I wonder if you thought of this colour-pop before you took the picture?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Brian, and...good question. I don't remember but once I saw it on the big screen, I "saw" it immediately. smile
What a wonderful photo! I like your image composition with the coloured spot and these many lines and angles. Really good work!
Ginnie Hart: You're most kind and generous, Wolfgang. Thank you.
Great selective colouring and contrasts between the umbrella and surroundings, excellent Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.

No sun here either. But this umbrella makes a dreary day seem more happy.
Ginnie Hart: It sure brightened up MY day, Rob. smile Thanks.
Very appropriate colour popping, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Tom.
What imagination you have Ginnie, this is fabulous.
Ginnie Hart: Shucks, Sally. That's very nice. Thank you. smile
Stunning shot. If there is rain, that promises that a rainbow will be present.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Michael, and, yes, indeed! Always the promise!

Great shot! I like the processing, fantastic
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Oscar.
Looking at this fabulous image makes me just a bit curious about the story behind it. As usual, masterful use of selective colouring, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Beverly. It had been raining for several days in Budapest but THAT day, the sun was out in all its glory. The umbrella was just sitting there, open, as though it had been left behind from the previous day. A busload of people was inside the church that afternoon, the day after Easter. I'd love to know more!
that is really colorful smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Joshi.

cool bit of selective coloring, the colors really do remind me of summer.. nice catch!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Rian. It really does remind us of summer!
Wednesday, the sun was shining in Flagstaff! Long enough for me to move a carload of stuff into the new place. Got to the mesa, and it started sprinkling just in time for me to load up another car full! Coulda used this umbrella!

Beautiful selective coloring, Ginnie! It works so well!
Ginnie Hart: I'm glad you're safe, Elizabeth. "The sun'll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar!" smile Thanks.
j'aime bien ce parapluie de couleurs qui redonnent vie à ces marches
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Angevine. Merci.
