St Clemens was a "dresser", heh!

I like the gold dancing feet at the top of the image, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray. He was probably a "looker," too?! smile

Wow! A wonderful capture of the catacomb with the color and artwork coming across very vividly.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Frances. I bet he really LOVES being at Melk Abbey, as opposed to his catacomb days years ago!
Saint Clemens has a few more things to say. With quill in hand and dancing feet around him, he has a long time to think about what to say.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I think you're right, Mary. He didn't expect heaven to be this posh! grin
Wow - now that's something! Beautifully captured Ginnie - very special!
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Elizabeth. I have a feeling he was quite excited about dying after being moved from the catacombs to Melk Abbey!

I hope they lit the candles at night, it might come in handy if he wants to write his memoirs....
It sometimes amazes me what is presented in a church/abbey/dom.
Beautiful picture and yes, we will relax in style.
Ginnie Hart: I think he must have been very happy to be moved from the catacombs to this posh resting place, MLMA! He must have done something right in life. smile Hartstikke bedankt. And yes, we will definitely relax this weekend, while out-n-about!

The fair colors of this marble are really magnificent. We see beautiful set what there what are the wealth of the Church, whatever is the celebrated cult. Magnificent Austria so rich in baroque places
Ginnie Hart: This Melk Abbey is out of this world, Marie. You'd go crazy there! smile Merci.
So ornate and colourful Ginnie, a great shot.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Sally.

Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, JP. Merci.
Wow. I am speechless about it beauty.

Happy week-end!
Ginnie Hart: It's something else, Sartenada, isn't it! smile Thanks.
Looks a trifle tawdry! Bit like a fairground object.
Ginnie Hart: A real gawker, then, Tom?! smile
I've never seen a more ornate resting place, Ginnie, and judging from some of the pictures in your link, it perfectly reflects the incredible magnificence of Melk Abbey.
Ginnie Hart: I bet St. Clemens didn't know what hit him, Beverly! grin
Is that behind an altar of some sort Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: I have no clue, Brian. I think his coffin has a see-through window! HA!
It needs more ornate-ness. wink
Ginnie Hart: HA! Can you "fix" it, Larry? grin
If they are his pyjamas, you wonder how he dressed in the daytime! smile
Ginnie Hart: That's a good one, Frank. Indeed. smile

What I remember: The owner of the castle added the abbey to house some monks. Gracious of him. After going through this ornate place, the fact that struck me most, was that after adding the abbey, he built a much bigger place on a hill in Vienna and gave the place in Melk to the monks. That man had a lot of money!
Ginnie Hart: Unbelievable! (sigh)
He was a colourful chap by the look of it Ginnie. Have a great weekend. A heatwave is forecast here...it is hot enough for me already!
Ginnie Hart: We're on our way to Luxembourg tomorrow till Tuesday, Bill, where it should be in the high 70s to low 80s. That will be hot enough for me! Stay cool and have a great weekend.

Quite opulent indeed Ginnie! Great capture.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Richard. Not exactly MY cuppa tea but...
Imagine lifting your hand like this for eternity... A nice tomb though.
Ginnie Hart: HA! That's one way to look at it, Wim. grin

he doesnt actually look very relaxed, but he has got the style!
Ginnie Hart: You can fool some of the people some of the time, Paul. HA!
I don't think that Saint Clemens {RIP} suits this scene... they have him writing letters for eternity Ginnie... great shot though....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: One does wonder, Peter. Somehow it feels much more comical than probably intended??! smile
