Absolutely beautiful shot Ginnie. The angle and clarity gives this a 3D affect.

Thanks for the cool off I really needed it smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frances. Sometimes a little bit of snow does the trick. smile

Beautiful!

Your shot immediately brought the movie "The Red Balloon" into my mind, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. And thanks for that reminder of "The Red Balloon!"
very nice dark tones...
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Larry.

lovely shot, Ginnie. Red umbrella makes it.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jennie. Don't you just love red in a black and white image! smile
Yes, that does the trick rather nicely, Ginnie. Thank you.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Don't you love what a bit of snow can do for the psyche on a hot day, Beverly! smile Thanks.
Ray beat me to it. I thought of the Red Balloon.
Ginnie Hart: Great minds on the same page, Michael! smile

Very thoughtful of you, Ginnie. Yet when it snows I think of hot summers
Ginnie Hart: Isn't that funny, Lisl, how our brains work like that! smile Thanks.

Love this image with the red umbrella Ginnie. I could have done with some of this now yesterday when it was VERY hot
Ginnie Hart: After living in Hotlanta for 25 years, Chris, you'd think the high 70s would not be too hot for me. HA! I've become most comfotable with the 60s and low 70s, truth be told...and am quite spoiled here in Dutchland. smile Thanks.

What beautiful idea this red umbrella. Nice angle and bw processing
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Marie. Our Viking river cruise had red umbrellas and because it was snowing, several cruise mates took them for the walk. smile

Great shot and those umbrella's came in handy with the snow.
Brings back great memories.
We are lucky to have a cool apartment....
Ginnie Hart: Many happy memories of that walk back from the Abbey, MLMA. I loved that some of our cruise mates took the Viking umbrellas. smile And, yes, we are very lucky to have a cool apartment!

Yes, we need to cool off in these days - a wonderful winterphoto with the selective colouring - I like it very much!
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Philine. Astrid is loving this warmer weather, as you'd imagine. I personally love the 60s and low 70s, like we usually have here. smile

Gee I was in Vienna mid march and didn't get any snow ,nice capture of this bridge under snow
Ginnie Hart: It was towards the end of March that the snow arrived, Noel, even in Vienna. We were lucky!!! smile Thanks for stopping by again.
GOT: "Winter is coming"
Ginnie Hart: Now that summer is well on its way, Michael, I guess you are a prophet! smile
Now it's to damn hot , just no pleasing some people. But no snow please.
Ginnie Hart: Don't you wish we'd all make up our minds, Mick?! grin

Hhaah!! Yes! Come back! All is forgiven. I'd much rather have the cold weather rather than the heat we presently have. Ray is right about the film (note, I don't call them movies smile ) "red Balloon".
Ginnie Hart: I do much better with the cooler temps, too, Alan, but Astrid is much enjoying these temps in the 70s, which suddenly feel hot to me. Thankfully our apartment remains nicely cool.
Nah, you need to build us an igloo to cool us off. wink
Ginnie Hart: HA! I think I could have done thsat in March, LC. smile

Love the spot of red in this wintry scene. A wonderful reminder to enjoy this extreme heat...because winter is coming - smile
Ginnie Hart: You're a lot hotter there than we are, Marcie, but I remember those days in Hotlanta. I guess it does help knowing winter is coming?! Stay cool.
I'm really taken with this shot and I do need some cooling off in a big way, A fabulous likey for me.
Ginnie Hart: You sound very desperate if this is a Likey for you, Mary. Well, just kidding, of course...but thank you. smile

Is it hot by you too? It's steaming here. Thanks for the image. By the way, yesterday for the first time as I walked across campus to my orientation duties I used my umbrella to protect me from the sun. I've done this at the beach before, of course, (and at Peter's Lollapalooza concert) but never while walking. We have a growing number of Chinese students on campus these days, and I've learned from them. I still felt odd though. Why don't we do this in the U.S. and Europe? Maybe I should invest in a parasol.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Ruth, our hot is wonderful: high 70s or low 80s, maybe. But that happens only a few days during the summer. Here in the apartment it's cool...in the high 60s. I love it. Using an umbrella in the heat of the sun makes a lot of sense...and I see it from time to time here. Good for you to protect yourself! Thank you.

I remember Melk vividly. Visited the Stift and then bought some fresh bread rolls and cold meats. Had a lovely picnic next to the road near the bridge, with a bottle of wine. It was a nice balmy day. So we slept some, to be woken by the farmer's shepherd sniffing in my ear!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, how fun, Louis. Aren't memories wonderful!

Red goes very well with snow Ginnie, I can see why you did this.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chad. I have always liked red, white and black together. smile
Well we needed to cool off for the last couple of days but not today sadly. I also thought immediately of the Red Balloon.
Ginnie Hart: It's been getting cooler for us, too, Brian. My kind of weather when it's more like autumn. smile
It's definitely needed here in NYC! Great capture and love the red umbrella!
Ginnie Hart: Wish I could send you some of our coolness, Robin! You'd love it here right now. smile Thanks.

Great shot, lovely angles and lines
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Anne.
Nice, Ginnie, thanks, but no thanks, but I'm enjoying the heat, getting ready for September. smile
Ginnie Hart: Some strange people really DO prefer the heat, so I've heard, Frank. I don't happen to be one of them. smile September will be here before you know it!
A wonderful and refreshing image with the 33°C we are having today Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Ouch. That's hot, Richard. You'd enjoy our balmy temps here in Dutchland right now! smile
Wow Ginnie, this is spectacular smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Sally.

Great idea of that read umbrella, Ginnie.

Though I enjoy the summer sunshine which has arrived here at last, it's not bad to get cooled down by your snowy picture. wink
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Petra. I'm one who can't stand too much heat, so I'm really feeling for those elsewhere who are suffering these days!

Ginnie, have you seen How I met Your mother? This reminds me of that show, because Ted's "wife" always carried a distinctive coloured umbrella. Except hers was yellow.
Ginnie Hart: No, I haven't seen that series, Emily, but I can imagine being known by a yellow umbrella. HA! smile
Love the touch of red, along with the leading lines that pulls one into this lovely image. Great job on this image Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, John. Thank you.
OH - and I do! Our highs continue to be in the 90's - but finally some rain is moving in!
I love this shot of the lovely bridge- and perfect selective coloring on the umbrella!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Elizabeth. I keep hearing about so many who need cooling off these days. I'm lucky to live here in cool Dutchland, since I don't do heat very well!
striking smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Joshi.
Ahh yes... the snow will be here soon enough. I'm able to open the windows for some fresh air today.
Ginnie Hart: The snow is never too far away, Jacquelyn, is it! Some of us are very lucky to not be experiencing extreme heat these days.
