The Taming of the Shrew

As you know, Bill Stooge (a.k.a. Mr. Pig) and wife Ange from England arrive today for a long weekend, till Monday.

(from the Würzburg Residence, Germany)

Trust me, we'll make him tow the line!  (She'll fit in just fine.)

That does look a bit like Bill, Ginnie!

He might need to wear a few more clothes, though, if he is going pig-hunting in Dutchland...
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Ray, the PIG is Bill!!! He will be the one hunted if he doesn't mind himself! HA! grin
Wow! Great photo! Have fun!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Robin. We're already having fun just thinking of it. smile

This statue is a bit weird, Ginnie. Do you know what it is suppose to represent?
Ginnie Hart: I have no clue, Emily, unless it's just a hunter from his day?
Wonderful image Ginnie... Mr. Pig's ancestry... i'm sure that he'll appreciate it... let me know hoe the 'tow the line' part works out grin ....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: It did seem appropriate, Peter. HA! I'm quite sure Bill knows everyone will hear about it if he doesn't behave! smile

Great photo, I know you will have a fun 4 days
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Aussie. It will be great weather, too. Today is our best day of the year thus far...up to the high 70s with lots of sun. It will be a great day for seeing Amsterdam.

What a fantastic boar. Enjoy your weekend together, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I thought this was quite appropriate, Lisl! Thanks. We are having the best day of the year thus far, up to the high 70s with lots of sun. The perfect day to see Amsterdam!
I feel sorry for the boar. He's going to that man's belly.
Ginnie Hart: Don't worry, Michael. Some of them need bringing down a peg or twp. HA! Actually, here in the Netherlands the wild pigs NEED to be caught because they do so much damage. So far they're allowed to get away with it.

This is a fine piece of rather anguished looking pork Ginnie. I'm sure you will enjoy showing Bill & Ange around
Ginnie Hart: The poor bloke won't know what to do with himself if he behaves abominally, Chris. Gotta give him fair warning! Other than than, it's the best day of our year thus far and will be perfect for showing them Amsterdam.

Everything is set to go to get Bill and Ange from the airport, soon.
They could not have chosen a better day. Sun and a blue sky.
Wonderful detail of the statue.
Ginnie Hart: It was a fantastic day yesterday and then again today, Saturday. WOW. The best weather of the year thus far!

I expect you have a freezer full of bacon in anticipation of his lordship's needs Ginnie. Have a good time.
Ginnie Hart: Not a slice of bacon anywhere to be found in our house, Chad, I'm afraid, though we did have some nice uitsmijters yesterday in Amsterdam. The weather has been AMAZING!
Great catch Ginnie. Have great fun all together!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard. So far so good! smile
Mr Pig will be dismayed then, reading the plans grin
Ginnie Hart: We'll let Mr. Pig be Bill for awhile, to save his goat, so to speak. HA!

Hope you have a great weekend
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Adrian, and you, too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY again.
Beautiful framing on this magnificent statue and on the beautiful head of wild boar. I crossed in walk, I do not approach too much sometimes I do not like the idea that they are hunted
Ginnie Hart: The wild pigs are not allowed to be hunted in the Netherlands, Marie, but they do so much damage around the country, they NEED to be hunted. It's sad either way you look at it, I guess. sad
The anguish on the pigs face is exactly what I would expect of Bill when you tell him he has to behave. Excellent shot.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Exactly, Mary. So far so good. smile

That's a brave guy to take the boar by the head like that, wow. Such a great statue and image, I love it. I guess I'd need to know Bill to understand, but it sounds like a great time is in store. Glad you have warmer weather to welcome them!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ruth. We've been having a great time thus far, with fabulous weather. And the good news is that Bill is behaving. smile The Three Stoges have quite a reputation...but when you split them up, they seem to be fairly decent. grin

Poor Bill - 3 girls and himself. If he is good, he will now how best to use the situation to his advantage.

The boar seems to be dressed like a gentleman - reminds me of Ebenaezer.
Ginnie Hart: So faer so good, Louis. Bill is holding his own quite well. smile And we're having the best weather of the year to date!
Why am I feeling sorry for the pig ??
Ginnie Hart: I don't know, Dennis. grin
Haha, I'm sure Bill will be on his best behavior, Ginnie and there will be no need to restrain him in this manner.

Was this statue located on the staircase?
Ginnie Hart: So far so good, Beverly. HA! We're all having a great time. And yes, this statue was somewhere along the great staircase at the Residence. A beautiful sight.

Mr.Pig with tusks, what a great find. Hope you all had a good day in Amsterdam today.
Ginnie Hart: It's been a fabulous time this far, Brian, with the best weather anyone could want.
Poor fella!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly!
Some sculptor here!! Have fun with Mr pig and wife ;-)
Ginnie Hart: We're having a great time, Wim, with all this great weather. WOW!
Hey, they offer herring to guests in Amsterdam, not hog's head.

Guess you can show them the right way to eat herring! He he after so many years living in Holland.
Ginnie Hart: Now that's an idea, LC. We haven't offered them herring yet.... Hmmmm.
A pigs head, is that not some sort of a threat? I bet the pig thought so smile
Ginnie Hart: I do see its eyes are closed, John! smile

Haha! I'm sure that will be fine; they're in good hands. Any significance in your choice of subject today?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan. Surely you know that Bill is also known as Mr. Pig??? grin
one man vs. three women... long odds...wink
Ginnie Hart: He didn't have a chance, Larry. HA! He behaved himself quite nicely. smile
Wow. I am mute when seeing Your great photo. On our road trip couple of years ago in Germany we spent one night in Würzburg on the way to Schwarzwald.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Sartenada. It's a great place to visit, isn't it!
cette sculpture est impressionnante et les couleurs sont superbes aussi
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Angevine. Merci.
different and have fun smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Joshi. We had a great time. smile
Such a great shot for this post Ginnie.

You have to show Bill this video... of a TV show called American Hoggers. It's craaaaazzzy!!!

Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA, Jacquelyn. What a hoot. I'll have to show it to Bill...now that he's gone! smile

Thought I'd look up, a pig quote, this seemed applicable...

"And call me a pig, but isn't it brilliantly refreshing how early the Dutch eat dinner? When they're still laying out the cutlery in achingly hip Barcelona, they're hanging the CLOSED sign on the restaurant doors of old Amsterdam...Julie Burchill
Ginnie Hart: HA! This is so true, George. Astrid and I eat dinner at 5 p.m. and love it. When I've been in Barcelona, they don't even think about eating till after 8 p.m.!
I am sure you will be too sweet to make him tow the line.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, we didn't have to coerce him at all, Michael, and that's the good news. smile
