Passing the Baton

So, my two older sibs are now septuagenarians.

In 2 years I will be next and then my sister.

That's what my post is about at Vision and Verb today.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bill!

Priceless image, Ginnie!

You have barely changed at all...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray, and HA! The Child is still within me and that is definitely good. smile
So ADORABLE! You haven't changed!!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, hopefully I HAVE changed a little, Robin, but I must say I still enjoy finding that Child within me. Still working on it. smile
What a sweet picture of the four of you, Ginnie. Ray & Robin are correct, you have hardly changed at all. Your V&V piece has not yet been posted but I will go back and read it tomorrow. Many happy returns to Bill.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't it fun to be reminded of the way we were, Beverly. Most of the time I just stare. HA! But thanks.

And believe it or not, this is a week of Bill for me/us because he and wife Ange are arriving here in the Netherlands on Friday for a long 4-day weekend. smile

Classic image, it must bring back so many memories for you
Ginnie Hart: I guess this is when I should say this is so 40s. HA! I really don't know how old I was in this pic. If I was older than 5, than it's the early 50s. And I really don't remember much of that time at all, I'm afraid. sad
Time stands still for no one Ginnie... i am on the same timeline as you... lucky us!...
i like what you did with this old photo of the lifeguard and the three bathing beautiesgrin....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Peter...time stands still for no one! I like that. smile And flattery will get you just about anywhere. HA!

smile This brings a smile to my face, indeed you did not change a bit, you are still that donderkoppie as shown in the picture.
Is septuagenarians a real word?? Makes a great scrabble word.
Ginnie Hart: Smiles all around, MLMA, because I am still your donderkoppie. HA! And yes, septuagenarian is a real word. Just wait till you find out what YOU'RE called. smile
This is SO awesome!!!! I'll read your V&V tomorrow..

LOL at Astrid!!!! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. Looking back can sometimes be very fun. smile

An image is a true treasure,

you have the same face! and you look younger than 70.

Have a nice Monday
Ginnie Hart: Well, Oscar, I AM younger than 70, by 2 years, but my older brother and sister are beckoning, it appears. smile It won't be long now. HA!
Thank you for the birthday greeting Ginnie. We are looking forward to Friday and the weather forecast is looking good at the moment!

Love the picture. The cutting edge of swimwear!
Ginnie Hart: Since I am 5 years your senior, Bill, I'll make sure to keep you in tow. HA! We can hardly wait...so looking forward to your visit. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Gosh Ginnie I can see that it is you even at such a tender age. A great picture, one to treasure...of course.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't it strange how we can still "find" ourselves all these years later, Chad! smile Thanks.
Does big brother still keep an eye on the rest of you?
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Tom, Big Brother has always wanted to pass that "mantle" on to someone else. It was a big role to fill...with 7 sibs following! smile

nice old photo remember good old souvenirs from the past
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Noel. The oldies but goodies. grin
The youngest must have said something cute. The smiles are directed at her. Very sweet!
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure you're right, Mary. Very observant of you. smile
Aww... we don't get to see lil G very often, you know! Now we wanna see lil A. :o)
Please photoshop Lil G&A (with a ballon, why not) together for us, make us "awwww" again. :o)
Ginnie Hart: Awwwww. What a clever idea, LC. Now THAT would be fun! smile

One of my all-time favorites. I love you.

The 70s sound downright middle-aged to me now. Seriously. How times have changed.

I'm off to V&V.
Ginnie Hart: Ohhh, thank you, sweetie. I find myself just staring at that image, trying to remember it. I remember almost...nothing. (sigh) So thank goodness for the pictures. I sure would love to know who took this one...Dad? G'ma Olive?
a sweet shot. makes me wonder where are the ones of my brother and myself
Ginnie Hart: Go look for your photos, Ayush, and just stare at them, like I'm doing now. It's a whole new world, isn't it!

I just can't say it enough - LOVE the image! And yes - happy birthday to your big brother!!!
Ginnie Hart: Bill who comes to visit us on Friday with his wife is one of our Shutterchance buddies, Marcie, and in that regard is like a brother...my LITTLE brother. HA! His birthday is today, age 63. My 2-yr-older sister, Susan, had her 70th birthday a week ago. That means we're all Gemini. HA! I love it.

But yes, I find myself just staring at this photo because I have no memory of her whatsoever! But I'm looking for her.... smile

The posture is unmistakable - you were a fierce little tyke, even then. A great picture.
Ginnie Hart: That's too funny, Louis, because I was told I was perceived as "sickly" growing up because of how skinny I was...so people didn't touch me, afraid they'd crush me, I guess? HA! But I like your version better. grin
Not difficult to guess which one is you Ginnie, a great shot of you and yours. Those swimsuits are so 40's.aren't they, I wouldn't dare show a picture of me wearing mine!
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! Well, it amazes me that everyone knows which one is me, Brian. I have no memory of this point in time whatsoever. smile
A priceless image Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: It does warm the cockles of my heart, Richard. smile

Brilliant! I would have recognised you form this smile Well, maybe not - are you on the far right?
Ginnie Hart: That would be my year-younger sister, Alan. I'm the second one from the right, standing next to her. In sibling order, Nelson, the boy, is the olderst, then Susan on the far left, then moi and then Nancy on the far right. smile
A lovely shot Ginnie - fond memories, I'm sure! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. To tell you the truth, I only remember the photos and not the experience. HA!

Gawd you are old Ginnie...[grin)
Ginnie Hart: There's a whole clan of us at SC, Richard, as you well know. HA!
We are to recover the Sixties, Ginnie...Nice post!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Juan Carlos, before they're gone. HA!
How time flies, the past is definitely another country. This is a really charming photo.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, John. The past is definitely another country! Was I really once there??? smile
My gosh, time passes relentlessly... I am two years from being a sexagenarian (no jokes please...)
Ginnie Hart: You're a year younger than Astrid, Larry, so I have a sense for what you're feeling. HA! smile
What a precious family shot Ginnie!! It's BEAUTIFUL!! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Shannon! smile
And you are all so cute. Such a sweet memory for you. That is why photography is so important.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Michael. I'd have absolutely no memory of this if it weren't for photography!
Is that really you with your siblings? I guess this photo comes from some eastern European village. But one never knows. Anyway: have a nice birthday!!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Wim. The first 4 of the 8. HA! And this would be in Michigan. smile
