Wonderful, innovative image of the church, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Ray. If he loses the balloon, it has somewhere to go. smile
It's a magnificent church that you framed so well Ginnie... and the G'pa with the red balloon makes it even better....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. It's something I've never seen before! smile

A great meeting point in such a big church.
Great scene. Love the the selective B&W of the other two visitors.
I saw that the Grandfather gave the boy his phone, so he could take pictures...
Ginnie Hart: It's something I've never seen before...a balloon in one of these great cathedrals. I think we should start a trend and then set them lose inside. Winnie the Pooh says no one can be uncheered by a balloon! Maybe that's what the world needs now...lots of balloons everywhere. grin

Love the arches
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Adrian, It was important to me to get the height in of this immense church.

Indeed why not Ginnie! I think your selective colouring works very well here
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chris. This is when I selectively-colored someone OUT. HA! I guess we call that de-selective coloring? smile
I love the vertical lines and selective coloring! And yes, balloons should be in church!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. I think this is the first time I selective-colored something to B&W. HA!
As I love church photos, I at first admired Your beautiful inside view of this church and after that I did find the balloon man.

Now when looking once more carefully, I saw where the church was in N├╝rnberg, oh my gosh, I have been in that beautiful city.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't it fun what you see when you keep looking, Sartenada! This was so fun...to see a balloon in this immense cathedral. It made my day.

Yes, I like it too, and the cap of the child matches the red balloon (Do you know the lovely story of the French children book 'The red Balloon'?) A beautiful photograph of this wonderful church!
Ginnie Hart: No, I don't know that book, Philine, but I bet it's wonderful...just like this balloon in the cathedral! Bedankt.
I love atmosphere of church and cathedral. Beautiful architecture and light. I like your work on the selective bw part.
Marie
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Marie. This totally made my day. smile

What a clever idea of Grandpa's, and clever of you to think what a good picture it would make
Ginnie Hart: Well, Lisl, it was very hard to NOT start clicking away! I have a close-up of the pair but it was important to me to show the grandeur of this cathedral. I still picture the balloon lightly floating all over the space up to the rafters. smile

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Red_Balloon -a wonderfully poetic book and film -like your photo! Typically French!
Ginnie Hart: Ohhhh. What a delightful little short movie, Philine. I want to watch it over the weekend. THANK YOU. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQhvgo62l74
Well spotted Ginnie. It makes for a charming picture
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Bill.
A wonderful architecture Ginnie! I love the atmosphere.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard. These huge cathedrals still mesmerize me!

Lovely shot I agree with Astrid like that you have selectively B&W the other 2.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Aussie. I didn't particularly like those two there so figured this was my best solution. smile

This building proves that people were three times the height they are no Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, I'd certainly believe that, Chad! smile

Sounds like a good plan to me. The church is magnificent.
Ginnie Hart: Some things just make sense, Alan! Thanks.
The arches are amazing and how you did the selective colouring is magic again. I think you may be a wizard.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I wouldn't mind being a wizard at something, Mary. grin Thank you kindly.

Why not, indeed. Love the framing to show the grandness of the arch. superb
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Sarito. It nmakes sense to me. smile
Ha ha... As long as you don't bring them near the candles!

You don't wanna blow up the church!
Ginnie Hart: HA! You do have a point, LC. grin

I like the idea of it too! Magnificent space and photo. Happy Friday!

IF ever you have an exhibition of red highlights, don't leave this one out. Vertical lines and narrow crop, great idea.
Ginnie Hart: Red highlights. I like the idea, Louis. smile Thanks.
A wonderful moment in time captured in this one.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. It's almost timeless, yes. smile
Nice contrast in scale - 99 Luftballons!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. I like that. smile

I agree with you - a great place for a balloon smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Anne. It's fun and happy!
Very good image Ginnie, the wonderful arches nicely frame the scene beneath.
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Brian. It all made sense to me. smile
Good interior, and perhaps he followed the red balloon, where will it take him next?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, John. I wouldn't mind following a red balloon. smile
Seems very appropriate smile
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Tom. Thanks.
I like your selective B&W and of course the bright balloon, Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Martin. smile
How cute smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Cherry. I thought so, too. smile
Love the balloon, but really love how you chose the couple for black and white! Cool!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Robin. I seemed the best solution to keep them from standing out and taking away the attention from G'pa and g'son. smile
i love those tall columns and arches. beautiful shot
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Ayush. I love these old, grand cathedrals.
The balloon is delightfully incongruous. Excellent shot.
Ginnie Hart: "No one can be uncheered with a balloon," says Winnie the Pooh. He would make a good pastor/priest, wouldn't he? smile Thanks, Michael.

I love the idea that you could up to the ceiling in a cathedral and see escaped balloons smile
Ginnie Hart: Wouldn't that be a bit like heaven, Geoff?! grin I love the thought. Thanks.
lovely shot smile
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Joshi.

I may have to remember the red balloon idea! Sounds like a perfect plan for finding a wee one.
Ginnie Hart: Made sense to me, Sue, especially in such a huge cathedral! smile Thanks.
