Very ornate piece of artwork Ginnie smile Works great in black & white, very dramatic.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Frances. I tried to find something exotic...HA! Still, it's here in the Netherlands somewhere.
There isn't enough room here in this tiny little box to fit it all in! Ha Ha!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I should have known you'd say that, Robin. grin

Funny things is I was discussing "bucket list" with some traveling companions yesterday...
Ginnie Hart: At our age, Ray, we've gotta think about it all the time to make sure we don't let it all get away!
Great looking guy... smile
I'll read your V&V tomorrow, as it's still yesterday today...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Elizabeth. The post will be timely for you, so if you read it, I'd love your comment! smile
The last thing on my bucket list is a quiet painless death.
Ginnie Hart: That's a good one, Michael. Astrid always says she hopes we die AFTER our vacation (wherever or whenever). smile

What a big eye is looking at us - a wonderful ornament! Thank you for the explanation of this phrase I didn't know. Later I'll read your V&V tribute, I can imagine what you are reflecting about. We know the phrase "Neapel sehen und sterben". I have some wishes, must sees, too, in my case: Rome and New York and some I don't reveal!
Ginnie Hart: The older we get, Philine, the more we need to think about our bucket lists. We don't have forever! When I think of all the traveling you do, I smile, because you're doing it right! Good for you.

I need more time
Ginnie Hart: With your more time and Adrian's bigger bucket, maybe we'll all manage just fine, Aussie. smile I hope so.

Wonderful patterns in this figure.
One thing I like to do is, go to the Golden Gate Bridge and walk to the middle of the bridge and spit into the water.
As a child (grin...and when nobody is looking) I had the thing about spitting from a bridge, I love the water ripples. And YES, I wont see that from the GGB wink
As long as I am with you, I am fine with whatever is on the bucket list, life is too short anyway.....
Ginnie Hart: God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll make it to the Golden Gate Bridge one of these years. I want to see you spit off it and yes, I'll take your picture. grin Harstikke bedankt, MLMA.
I'll catch up with V&V later Ginnie.

I think it might have been Woody Allan who said when asked if he wanted to achieve immortality through his work said No he would rather achieve it by not dying
Ginnie Hart: HA! That Woody Allen is something else, Bill. I have no illusions about dying. I just want to make sure I tick off the bucket list as much as possible before then. smile

I want to see lots more wonderful green men like this one Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Me, too, Chris!!! smile Thanks.
Read V & V,I love the humour you found at that sad time.
I would like to photograph the wonders of Madagascar and also the Namibian desert.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for reading my V&V, Martin. I'd love for you to leave a comment there...or I could could copy and paste this one? Just let me know? The ladies would love seeing you there.

A wonderful capture with beautiful detail Ginnie. There is so many things on my bucket list but the ultimate would be to fly over the Serengeti in a Hot Air baloon !
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Laurette. I do hope you make this Big Wish happen!!!

Not enough space nor time to list all my unfulfilled dreams and plans. smile Stone carving is not one of them though, so I will leave that to the experts.
Ginnie Hart: The thing is, Alan, I see you as one of those who is ticking off your bucket list all the time...and adding as you go. smile

I don't really have one, but I can't wait to find out what this charming fellow has to do with them! smile
Ginnie Hart: This fella has nothing to do with anything, sister, except that he was the most exotic thing I could find to represent a Bucket List. He so happens to live here in the Netherlands. HA! And now you know how the Bucket List is connected to kicking the bucket. smile
He he don't you give me that cheeky tongue when you die! ;p
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! I promise, LC. grin

Really great textures, face!
Ginnie Hart: He seemed somewhat exotic, Helys, to represent a Bucket List, I thought. smile Thanks.
My bucket has a hole in it and all the money I needed to accompany my list has leaked out.
Ginnie Hart: UGH. Part of what Astrid and I are learning is to stop spending our money on what we don't need so that we can spend it on what we want. It helps when the children are grown and we're off on our own. Some things we'll never be able to do because of not having the money, but we're really trying to figure out what we CAN do and how to cut the corners to do it. It's a dance!

What a powerful image!! Terrific light!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Marcie. I went to my unassigned bin to find something halfway exotic and this is what I came up with. HA!
A great stone feature Ginnie, I'll have a read later smile
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Martin.

It's often the unplanned things that turn out to be more interesting smile Good b&w Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: A good point, John. Believe it or not, we've been waiting 18 months for this river cruise and are very excited about it! smile Thanks.
Love this image, Ginnie, so strong with those wonderful textures and your superb signature tones.

Top of my bucket list:- To be accorded the time and means to live in the world's major cities where I could explore and photograph each one of them at my leisure. I would start in Manhattan.

Always enjoy reading your V&V submissions, Ginnie. The one you've posted today is one of your best.
Ginnie Hart: What a great list, Beverly, especially starting in Manhattan. Just do it! And I'd LOVE it if you'd leave a comment at V&V...or even copy-n-paste this one there. The women love to know who visits there! (We get so many lurkers and never know who they are.)
Too many things to list and I am honest with myself and admit there is a lot of them I won't do, (:
Ginnie Hart: We all know the things we'd love to do or see with our own eyes but have sense enough to know will never happen. If we can pick one or 2 of them, and do them, I guess we're lucky! Thanks.
Terrific bit of carving!
Ginnie Hart: Someone had fun with it, Tom. smile

I want to travel Canada. I feel like I've visited many places in life, but have yet to see my own country. I think taking a month off, and just driving from one end to another would be fantastic.
Ginnie Hart: Do you know, Emily, that years ago, when Astrid was 21 and lived in America for one year, she took the Greyhound bus all by herself and hopped on and off all across the United States AND Canada. She has seen more of it than I have. She'll never forget it. Not that I'm suggesting the Greyhound for you, but surely there's a way to do it! Don't wait if you don't have to.
After what Bill has done to me today and what some people have said about me I now have a very long to do list for my bucket.Who said SC was a friendly place.Frank has put me in rehab to stop me smoking and then tells me he is of to Tibet back packing , so he is first on the list followed next by Bill.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, stopping the smoking would be one healthy thing, of course, but other than that, I wouldn't pay any attention to the other guys. Just do your own thing.

Before I forget, your URL sign-on is in error, Mick, and has been for several weeks now. I'm one who knows what it should be and can fix it but surely there are others who don't.
Think I have just fixed it Ginnie ,thanks.
Ginnie Hart: YAAAAY. it is now correct. Thanks.

Our world of materialistic desires is making us desperate. I think I am happy to see the rest of today out and hope that tomorrow is as successful and that there is just a small unforseen surprise waiting for me
Ginnie Hart: They say be careful what you wish for, Richard, but in this case I wish it for you myself! smile

When Astrid and I stripped ourselves down to only the basics 3+ years ago in order for us to live together, we promised ourselves to NOT spend money on anything we don't need (and to be satisfied with one-scoop ice cream cones for only €1). It has meant that we can drive around and see things with our own eyes, which is more important than possessions we could accumulate. In that regard, we're definitely on the same page with you.
Lovely tones, textures and curves Ginnie combining to great effect.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Fred. I did this a long time ago and couldn't even remember where I took it. I searched and it was in nearby Culemborg 3 years ago...sitting in my unassigned bin. HA!
Someone cetainly enjoyed carving it Ginnie! Fine capture.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Richards, I think so, too. Merci.

Have a fantastic time - looking forward to seeing all the pictures smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Anne. We are over the moon with excitement and anticipation. Pray that Astrid doesn't get sick. She's fighting a sinus infection right now. sad
Some find. Good picture of some excellent carving.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Graeme. As I just told Fred, I did this a long time ago and couldn't even remember where I took it. I searched and it was in nearby Culemborg 3 years ago...sitting in my unassigned bin. HA!

Fantastic image, I love all the different textures I can see.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Cherry. He seemed appropriate for an entrance to Bucket Lists. grin
lovely rough details. reminds me of the bulging, all seeing, evil warding eyes of the guardian lions seen so often at gates.
Ginnie Hart: That's so true, Ayush. I knew it reminded me of something. grin Thanks.
Hi, Ginnie.

My blog has self-destructed so I have a new one and am going to try to re-post old stuff to the dates when they were originally up. Thousands of posts.
Ginnie Hart: I love your new site, Michael, but don't relish for you all the work. Still, it'll be done before you know it, I'm sure.

Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, JP. Merci.
Beautiful photo and interesting views. Greetings
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Zielona.
Quite a monster!
Ginnie Hart: His bark is louder than his bite, Wim. I took this in Culemborg 3 years ago and have no clue where (the edge of the stadhuis, maybe?). It was languishing in my unassigned bin. HA!
