I am never bored with pictures from Amsterdam. A famous bridge at a famous place in the City. I love all the white in this wonderful picture and the POV.
Happy memories.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. Oh yes, many happy memories, indeed. smile
I love the reflection in the foreground Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. It was a sweet little surprise. smile

This place is busy but with no people. When I think of Amstel I think of beer
Ginnie Hart: I think of beer, too, Chris, whenever I hear Amstel, and rightly so. Like Heineken, it is known all over the world! Many thanks.

Excellent boat friday those barges are very wide
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Adrian. Most Dutch rivers and canals easily hold these barges. I can't imagine not seeing them! smile

This looks such a busy scene, Ginnie - is it full of bustling?
Ginnie Hart: Even with no one around on a mid-day Sunday, it still seemed "busy," Lisl. But that's Amsterdam for you!

Amazing to me - how the boats meet right up with the built city environment. Wonderful harbor scene and image!
Ginnie Hart: Boats, bikes and buildings all somehow become one here in the Netherlands, Marcie. It's quite amazing! smile Thanks.

Lots to enjoy in this, especially the locks and the buildings to the right. Looks quite summery.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan. And to think this was on February 17, in the dead of winter (without snow).

Busy, busy. We are a busy species. I hope you 2 enjoy the boat trip.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Louis. We have been waiting for 18 months, so you KNOW we're excited. smile
Looks just the sort of place I'd enjoy wandering with a camera smile Lovely shot Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Martin. Over and over again. Thanks.
The muted colours accentuate the line in this very nicely Ginnie, particularly the older buildings on the right.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Fred.
I like the bright, after the rain, look to this Ginnie. Have a great weekend
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Janet. It was definitely a gorgeous day! smile
Pictures galore and look at all those lovely canalside buildings on the right, not quite so sure about the modern style ones straight ahead though.
Ginnie Hart: As you can imagine, Brian, Amsterdam is a city of the past AND of the present. Many thanks.
About to weigh anchor Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, John. We can hardly wait (after waiting already 18 months)! smile
Boats for several Fridays there, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Enough to last the rest of my lifetime, Tom, for sure. smile
When I was there I took some pictures on the bridge in the background at night smile
Have you good weekend!
Ginnie Hart: That's the famous Magere Brug, LC. You would have been taking a picture of me! HA!
This is beautiful Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Sally.

What a wonderful place you live. I am so jealous.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Michael, we live an hour's drive away from Amsterdam, but...I guess that's as good as saying we live there! smile Thank you. We do feel very lucky.
Very nice shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Navin.

Ginnie Hart: UGH. We get claustophobic with too many tourists around, Luiza. That's why we always enjoy traveling off-season! Danke.

There is something so peaceful and great about a "lull" i think ... I find when places are empty, such as places by the water, give me a lot of time to clear my head. I hope you had a nice weekend.
Ginnie Hart: I so agree with you, Emily. Sunday morning in so many cities is the best time to be out-n-about, while the rest of the place is sleeping after a night of partying. The lulls in life are so important!
