Truly glorious. Such artistry to support the pipes.
Ginnie Hart: Things like this blow me away, Michael!
For some reason, I'm thinking of the Misty Mountains song on the pipe organ. OK, it's not a big mystery.

Misty Mountains is a great song.
Holland is full of great organs - real mechanical ones - not electrical or electronical.

Find JH Ploeg in the 10th row of http://www.koorbegeleidingen.nl/dirigenten.htm He is also an organist and played me some one-listener concerts in famous churches in the Netherlands. Not Nijmegen. Learnt a lot about organs and belgian beer from him.
Ginnie Hart: Philine has also said Holland is known for its great organs. I believe it, Louis, since I have seen so many of them. One day I'd also like to hear them! I always thank you for what you add of import in your comments! smile

When I toured Europe with our Boy Choir, I so enjoyed playing the magnificent organs in Germany and Austria. There was one location that I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to turn on the instrument! How embarrassing!!! Your image today brings back many, many memories.
Ginnie Hart: Ohhhhhh, Sue. To think YOU could have played such an organ! OMG! I would have been in heaven. Actually, my mom also was an organist. I can just imagine what she would be thinking if she saw this!
Beautiful decoration and an impressive looking structure! Great shot Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. It was most mesmerizing! smile
Beautiful!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Wim! And we got snow last night!!! (Monday night)

The cherubs are so cute.
Ginnie Hart: Definitely NOT what I was used to in America, LC! smile I love the cherubs...and often many of the organs have them. Thanks.
