Looks like it is Ladies Day at the church, Ginnie.

Wishing you a happy time!
Ginnie Hart: There was a man to the right of the image (cropped off) and one leaving, but other than that, yes, Ray, you're right. Wonder what that's about! But thanks and the same to you and yours.
Beautiful image Ginnie! Merry Christmas to you and Astrid!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, deqar Elizabeth. And to you and yours also.

Absolute fabulous picture. Love the light of the candles reflecting.
A lot of stories are told, when we see the look on the faces.
One more day to go.... smile
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. I'm sure all the stories of the world have found their way to that one spot in the cathedral!

One more day....you are such a trooper.
I wish the same for you and Astrid... have a wonderful Christmas Ginnie... i hope that you lit a candle for me at the Cathedral... i can use all the help that i can getgrin....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. Actually, we didn't light any candles (I didn't grow up with that tradition but I'm certainly not against it!) but we felt the meaning of it for those who did.
Cologne Cathedral sounds like an interesting place to observe the holidays.
Ginnie Hart: One of Cologne's 6 Christmas markets sits right outside the church, Michael, so it's a no-brainer for tourists to enter the cathedral while they're there. I'm guessing the cathedral reaps many financial benefits by being there and being open.

Oh, wonderful and so weihnachtlich atmospheric! I recall this place where I myself love to light one or two ... candles ... Yes, a joyful and triumphant Christmas to you both, too!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, dear Philine. It was so wonderful to be in YOUR country that day for the Christmkas markets and this incredible cathedral.

A charming picture of illumination, perhaps enlightenment Ginnie: I was very impressed with this place when Chad & I visited earlier this year.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chris! i love knowing that you and Chad were in this same cathedral and therefore have shared it with us.
I can sense the atmosphere thru Your terrific photo.

I want to wish to You and Yours Happy Holidays!

I like the atmospheres of candles or wax candles which give to faces a beautiful warm light. It is a very beautiful photo Ginnie, good Christmas to you and your family.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marie. This reminds me of YOUR candles today! Merci.

Such great symbolism especially at this time of year. I like the lead in with the railing and then the warmth of the light lighting those thoughtful faces.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Alan. Lots of symbolism here. Thanks.

That's just so beautiful and calming to me, i would love to be standing there with them, staring at all the light, and thinking about the Light of the World, Merry Christmas to you and Astrid!
Ginnie Hart: The Light of the orld snuffs out the darkness, Elaine. If we don't believe that, we are hopeless! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
A wonderful picture Ginnie. We had a lovely Carol Service last night, Maureen and me in the choir for the special songs added to the evening for us. When we went in Koln cathedral in 2003 there was a visiting choir from somewhere in the USA singing sacred music in the late morning, it sounded wonderful echoing round that lovely building. Have a great Christmas you two.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Brian. I love the thought of a choir singing in that immense cathedral. I bet it sounded heavenly! Merry Christmas to you and Maureen.
This is a very poignant photo that I like very much, Ginnie. I feel the sorrow spilling from lady in the middle. Lighting candles for those no longer here is a time honoured ritual that you have shown remarkably well.

Merry Christmas to you and Astrid as well.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you for your thoughtful words, Mary. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Triumphant Christmas, what a great wish, Ginnie. The theme of your beautiful photo seems like a good idea for an Advent or Christmas tradition - to go to a church and light a candle there. Here it is not common and if I'm not mistaken I haven't seen such candle holders in any church here.

Triumphant Christmas to you and your wife as well!
Ginnie Hart: Your words are beautiful, Petra. THANK YOU.
A lovely shot, Ginnie, all the best to you and Astrid. X
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
Time to think and pray. Time for lights and generosity. Time for family and friends.
A wonderful shot Ginnie, definitely appropriate.

A Merry Christmas to you and to all the people you love.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you for your generous words, Flo. Merci. And the best of this holiday season to you and yours!

They seem to be 'reading' the burning candles. A good picture, fitting the Christmas holidays. A merry time to you two.

This is lovely Ginnie. A very happy Christmas to you

So beautiful. My first thought was that they are "playing" the candles.

Merry Christmas, my dear sister. I love you.
