Ok...this market is now officially on my bucket list!
Ginnie Hart: You'd love it, Robin...and since Köln was the originator of these markets in Germany, I'd highly recommend it (actually, they have 6 Christmas markets, of which we visited 3).

Wonderful!

[I went to the Boy's end-of-year school concert yesterday...one of the 5th grade acts made me laugh out loud...a kid, dressed in Santa costume, came on stage where he was accosted by the narrator..."Who are you?" asked the narrator..."I am Santa", he replied, then "Did you think I was Lady Gaga!"
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray...and HAHAHAHAHA! Gotta love it. grin
Wonderful wonderful!! I like the antique look!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Elizabeth!
I love the colours... i grew next to a train yard Ginnie... this is like going home for Christmas....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter. How can we not love Santa on a train!
That is very cool.
Ginnie Hart: Thank yoiu kindly, Michael.
They look ready to march.
Ginnie Hart: HA! "All aboard!" smile
The march of the penny whistles from the Sorcerer's Apprentice? smile
Ginnie Hart: In that case, Bill, blow the whistle because it's time to board the train to Hogwarts! smile

a wonderful collection of flutes and Santa Claus bears and railways ...Cologne/Keulen/KÃļlm must be a particularly fine Christmas market!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Philine. A tip of my hat to Brian and others, of course. There are 6 Christmas markets in Köln, of which we visited 3. Wonderful. Surely you know Christmas markets in Germany began in Köln! Definitely worth the experience (for a non-German).
Simply wonderful Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. Merci.

Great colours and a wonderful DOF.
This is one of the reasons I like the German Christmas markets. It is a world on its own and I love the atmosphere. To be there is a real treat.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. I love that we can look forward to them every year! They make such a great photo hunt. smile
A busy looking little corner Ginnie. Have a good weekend too
Ginnie Hart: All the nooks and crannies and corners there are just wonderful, Janet. Thank you. smile

The train is making a whistle stop.

Lady Gaga was here last week, so I guess she went to Bangkok - she must watch out - that could hurt.

Next year, Justin Bieber will have a concert here in Johannesburg. Tickets sold out in under 2 hours and broke the Gaga record. Heck, what is my country coming to!
Ginnie Hart: HA! That Justin Bieber sure is looking up in the world, Louis. smile Thanks for sharing a bit of your world there.
Lovely Ginnie, hope you have a great weekend too! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Martin.

Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Petra!
These are lovely ornaments and I like your antique treatment.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a lot, Mary!
I have written a number of books on trains but missed these "Cyclopflutes & Bears" of yours. Lovely Ginnie grin Will include them in next edition for sure.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Never forget the flutes/whistles and bears, Juan Carlos! grin Thanks.

Eeekk!! Therre are loads of them! Looks like the sort of Market where you can actually get some really nice gifts. The less said about our German Market with its Sheds of Sh** the better!
Ginnie Hart: HA! You'd find lots of fun, affordable things at this market, Alan...especially when it comes to images for your camera! smile

are those little hand carved flutes?? my grandfather could make those from a tree branch, just got a wee bit nostalgic there, sniff sniff, great picture, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: These probably aren't handmade, Elaine, but I love that they made you think of your grandfather. Thanks for sharing that.
Christmas careering towards us at full pelt now! smile

My husband loves trains. I'll have to show him this image. Did you feel like a child again at this Christmas market? It must have been a 'feast' for the eyes!!!
Ginnie Hart: We have so many friends here at Shutterchance, Sue, who are showing us trains all the time, especially in England. So many of the oldies are being restored there. And yes, we were definitely little kids again at the Christmas market. We plan to go every year that we can...to a different one each year! smile Thanks.
Lovely aren't they, just the thing to blast when the Grandchildren need to be brought to attention for whatever reason, usually a bad one!
Ginnie Hart: HA! I can just see you and Maureen having to blow your whistles together at the same time, Brian! grin
j'aime bien le cadrage...
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Angevine.
Merry Christmas my dear friend!!!
Ginnie Hart: And the same to you, dear Fabrizio. Grazie.
