What an interesting capture! So much to look at and wonder about! SantaCon will be on Friday of this upcoming week here in NYC. Hope to see and capture the hundreds of Santas that come out and play!
Ginnie Hart: This was the very first thing we saw when we went to the Christmas market, Robin...just as we were getting ready to enter! How fun for us! Thanks.

Ha Ha

Do you get free public transport if you dress up as santa...
Ginnie Hart: HA! Now THAT would make a lot of sense, Ray. Great idea! smile Thanks.
excellent candid shot. mildly disappointing to see the not-so-packed rucksack for the one on the left grin
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ayush. That rucksack is definitely not what I was expecting. smile
How cute to see them meeting up!
Ginnie Hart: Even Santa has got to have fun! smile Thanks, Elizabeth.
I like his apprentice Ginnie... it will take some time before he gets his beard long enough to pull it off... i dropped by V&V today... thanks for the invitation....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Don't you wish you could eave's drop, Peter smile Thanks.

May be its a union meeting
Ginnie Hart: HA! Maybe too peaceful for that, Vintage? But definitely worth a try. smile

Cool♥ We stille weren´t there:-|
How was your experience with us in Cologne?♥♥♥
Ginnie Hart: You can be very proud of your Christmas markets in Köln, Luiza. The best I've ever seen! We only went to 3 of them that day, by the way.

That one on the left is a phony, Ginnie - no beard to speak of
Ginnie Hart: Peter thinks he's an apprentice, Lisl. smile HA! Thanks.

Maybe these two are related Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I have a feeling all Santas are related, Chris. They come from the same stock. grin

Great shot and I just love the selective colouring.
I hope there is room enough in that shopping cart for 4 bottles of Glühwein and some Lebkuchen......

Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. It's not what we were expecting at all, was it! grin

a fine example of selective colouring I have to admire! Funny the 'Bischofsstab'! The ecclesiastical and the secular world are very close to each other in Cologne - that is known -Pub and 'Puff' next to the Cathedral!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Philine...right next to the cathedral! I'll never forget it. Bedankt.

awwww, have you ever seen that movie, 'bad santa'? well don't hahahaha.... it will ruin this moment with this pretty scene for you
Ginnie Hart: No, Elaine, I haven't...and I'll take your advice. smile Thanks.
Father Christmas with a shopping trolley?
It's Ho Ho Ho with Ha Ha ha. ;o)
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, LC. Kinda spoils the effect, right?! smile
He gets everywhere! I like his shopping trolley
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Bill, he does. I think he has a double all over the world at any given time! smile Thanks.

Each to the other 'Are you the real Sincta Klauss'
Ginnie Hart: I do think there's a friendly debate going on about that, Chad. grin
trop bien ce père noël moderne avec son cabas
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes he just has to get with the times! HA! Merci.

A excellent candid shot Ginnie and marvelous selective colour processing ! Father Christmas on the left seems to have a lot of shopping to do .
Ginnie Hart: It was a nice way for us to start the Christmas market that day, Laurette. smile Thank you.
Well spotted. Perhaps the Santa with the shopping trolley is a beginner, or has a back problem so he can't carry the sack.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Sheila. The speculation increases with every comment. HA!

Ah, so that's where they shop! So much for the magic toy factory. smile Fun photo!
Ginnie Hart: It really was a mystery, Ruth. Actually, there are 6 Christmas markets in Cologne, so maybe the Santa on the left was off to his own assigned spot while catching up on the morning's gossip! smile Thanks.
Excellent use of highlights here - wish I could take a break from Xmas! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Fred. I wish for you a break!

Now, I wonder what the children make of seeing two Santas? The shopping trolley sort of destroys Santa's street cred, I think wink
Ginnie Hart: I wonder what the children think of all of it, Alan. I didn't grow up with anything like this at all!

Somewhere between the red coats of Sinterklaas and Christmas - must be busy.
Ginnie Hart: The red coats are coming, the red coats are coming. I can hear it now, Louis! smile
Santa has to do his own shopping, those lazy elves? grin Great shot Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: A sign of the economic times, Martin? (sigh) Thanks.
How very sweet, Ginnie. Your selective colour choice couldn't have a better place than this.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Mary. You know how much I like to use selective coloring whenever I can. smile

So - where's Santa's beard??? Somehow - this made me laugh!
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! It must be in his shopping cart, Marcie. grin
This is a very funny shot. One tends to forget Santas are just middle-aged men ;-)
Ginnie Hart: HA! You're so right, Wim. grin
A feel good shot, Ginnie. Not your typical mall Santas for sure. I wonder if the long staff with the bell on the tip has any significance in German Christmas traditions.
Ginnie Hart: I'm very sure the internet has a wealth of information about Santa's staff, Beverly. HA! Guess we both have our work curt out for us, right? smile Thanks.

Exchanging santa gossip? Great capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Sounds about right, John! smile Thanks.
This is going to shatter some kid's illusion...
Ginnie Hart: You think so, Larry???? grin
Great image Ginnie. I'll expect some other with bicycles. Can it be possible?
Ginnie Hart: The day I see a Santa on a bicycle is the day I better have my camera with me, Juan Carlos!!!! Thanks.

Que c'est bien vu ! Bonne soirée
JP
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP. Merci.
A fine shot. I thought for a moment that was Maureen with the shoulder bag, the size, coat, hair and bag match her, I must find out when she went to Koln without me knowing smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! Check your eye glasses again soon, Brian. Maureen might disappear before your very eyes if you aren't careful! smile

Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Sally, isn't it! smile Thanks.
Perhaps it's a shift change. Love the selective colouring and great candid Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Could be, Janet...though this was at the beginning of the markets that day. Maybe they all met for a staff meeting and were on their way to their respective "positions?" smile Anyway, thanks.
