James Bond 007

A Dutch Halloween!

(As seen in a nearby canal in front of someone's house.

That's kroos=duckweed on top of the water, not crud!)

I had no idea when I queued this how appropriate this would be for the blow

just dealt to America's East Coast by Hurricane Sandy.

God have mercy!

I'm sitting here in disbelief! First that capture is one hell of a capture! I remember you taking it which is even more special! Wow! Fabulous work Ginnie and you are so correct...how appropriate!
Ginnie Hart: Now that I realize you saw this, too, Robin, and now you are back in NYC where you live, I'm speechless. Who would have known just how much this would mean for today...of all days! Be safe and dry in these days to come. I'm so glad you're alive and well...with power!

Cool photo. There is no such thing as a co-incidence...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Cherry, and I totally agree! One does wonder about the timing of this so close to the American presidential election!

He just needs a bit of duckweed on his bald pate, Ginnie...
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Ray! smile

Great shot and so funny. I spotted this guy in a flash and was able to stop the car. No co-incidence and how appropriate.
Great title, I am looking forwards to the movies, this Saturday!!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed...the timing is perfect for the East Coast and for the new James Bond movie. No coincidences, ever! Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA.
Cool Hallowe'en photo. ... haha... I thought the green was some kind of grass until I read your post. ...
Yes... such devastation in NY. (I was texting a nephew right there... no power is better than no house.)
Ginnie Hart: No power is definitely better than no house, Jacquelyn. The devastation is unbelievable. God have mercy on them all!

The devastation on the east coast is unimaginable but I love this shot. It may be kroos but it sure looks like crud!!
Ginnie Hart: Who would have believed the devastation would be so hard, Helen. It sobers us all! I bet there's a lot of crud in the water there. Sad but true. sad

Somebody out there in Dutchland has a sense of humour equal to that of my little sister it seems Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: You've got that right, Chris. I can just imagine what she'd come up with if she put her mind to it!
A little worrying this James Bond. Happy Halloween Ginnie !
Ginnie Hart: I sure hope he lives to tell us about it all, Marie. smile Merci.

Yes, God may have mercy - now we are feeling again our human and technical limits!
A strange, almost creepy shot, but surely a kind of Dutch humour?
Ginnie Hart: Who knew he'd be so appropriate right now, Philine. Yes, God have mercy!
Totally appropriate on two counts then, Ginnie. Great image. Hope all is well with you. (:o)
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Roz, totally appropriate. And it's so good to see you again!!! We're doing GREAT! I hope you are, too?!
Bond has put his foot in it again.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Richard. And we're gonna go see him do it on Saturday. Can hardly wait. smile
Likewise with my series on a wet Bournemouth. The pictures from the US are terrible
Ginnie Hart: It's hard to believe, Bill. So devastating...but they will all get together and clean it up!
Bald(finger), I guess
Ginnie Hart: HA! Indeed, Juan Carlos. grin

Ha ha this is brilliant Ginnie, you know me for liking something a little quirky.
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Chad. I do know you! grin Thanks.
Ha ha... Have you seen American Dad, the Bond special episode? That's really hilarious.

How's your family in GA?
Hope everyone's good.
Ginnie Hart: No, LC, I haven't seen that one, but we're very excited about seeing the new Bond movie this weekend.

Thanks for asking but, YES, my kids are fine in Atlanta. I do have a nephew and family who're still without power in Greenwich, CT.

Bien vu ! Je te souhaite une agréable journée
JP
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, JP. Merci.
A great find in the first place Ginnie, and yes how appropriate under current circumstances. There are those at our church who would say that you were meant to post this today, in advance as you did.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Brian, and I tend to agree...that none of this is coincidental!
How bizarre and comical, they must have a GSOH! A great shot and find Ginnie smile Hope you enjoy 007, I'm sure I'll see it soon!
Ginnie Hart: Someone sure had a good sense of humor, yes, Martin (I had to look that one up, HA!). We know we'll love the new 007 movie. We only see one movie or so a year in the theater here, so it'll be a big deal for us. smile (We have 450 DVDs in our own personal library!)
I bet they clean NewYork up faster than they did New Orlleans.People still without homes their. A good find this one Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: You may be right, Mick, for whatever reasons. (sigh) Thanks.

I can't see the connection with Hallowe'en but no matter. It looks like it's been there for a while judging by the fern growing out of it.

That storm was something else; I can;'t believe the destruction it caused. I'm not surprised about the power outages though, seeing just how precarious the power lines appear to be even on a good day. I wonder if Obama's actions will swing the Election next week?
Ginnie Hart: Well, Alan, there aren't usually scuba divers in the Dutch canals, so it's gotta be for something, right? grin But yes, one does wonder how the storm will affect the election, for sure! I guess we'll soon find out!

Rather fun, I thought it was grass at first, the swamp monster would have been good smile
Ginnie Hart: Swamp monster works for me, John. smile
ben ça me fait plutôt penser à un extra terrestre ....
Ginnie Hart: Definitely not Dutch, Angevine. smile Merci.
Bond strikes again! Great capture Ginnie.
Happy Halloween!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard! We plan to go see him on Saturday. grin
Why settle for a plain old garden gnome?
Ginnie Hart: HA! You do have a point, Graeme. grin

kind of creepy for sure, but a good catch none the less... happy halloween over there!!!
Ginnie Hart: It sure caught me by surprise, Elaine. smile Thanks.
Shows the Dutch quirky side Ginnie. It's devastating news from the States and I hope your family over there is alright
Ginnie Hart: Quirkt Dutch side is right, Janet. smile

I have a nephew who has been without power since the beginning, in Greenwich, CT. All roads into his place were blocked by downed trees the first day. I hope they are cleared by now? What a mess!
Quite bizarre Ginnie, but am guessing it's the owner's indulgence of a quirky sense of humour!
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure you're right, Fred. Gotta make use of those ubiquitous canals somehow! smile
His feet must be very wet smile
Ginnie Hart: I have a feeling he doesn't have feet anymore, Tom. smile
Well someone has a great sense of humor! I'm glad to see your friend Robin is safe and sound.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, all around, Elizabeth. Robin lives in Upper Manhattan where they have power. Go figure!
AHahah ! Very appropriate in a sense. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Flo. I thought so, too.
