Good advice from Mr C, Ginnie.

One of the ills of today is that so many jobs have nothing in them that can be associated with an end purpose and so they are just meaningless chores.
Ginnie Hart: Of all those "Confucius say" quotes, Ray, this is one of my favorites!
OH how I love roadside stands of produce! It amazes me the number that allow the honor system for purchasing too! Fab capture!
Ginnie Hart: We see them everywhere, Robin, with the honor system. It really IS amazing, isn't it!
That Confucius was one smart fellow.

It is taking forever to find an anti-spam code that I can read. I will give up ifI can't do it soon.
Ginnie Hart: As I just told Ray, of all those "Confucius say" quotes, Ray, this is one of my favorites! Thanks, Michael for being persistent for this comment!
Marvelous image Ginnie! I love the wooden signs. Happy Labor Day to you!!
Ginnie Hart: I agree, Elizabeth. I love what these Dutch come up with! smile Happy Labor Day.
... We have the same holiday here in Canada today too Ginnie. Are you having a fab time in the US?
Ginnie Hart: Well then, happy Labor Day to you, too, Jacquelyn! We're having a great time here. Yesterday all 6 of us went bowling: my son, daughter, SIL, g'son, Astrid and I. smile Today we'll relax, BBQ, play Spades and probably watch a DVD movie here at home. My kind of day. smile

Warm, inviting photo, Ginnie. Will read your Vision & Verb next. Good to be in contact with you whilst you are away
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Lisl. Because it's my turn at V&V today, I decided to break all my rules and post. grin

Confucius is right - I can totally agree with him! And I like this fine exhibition of fruits in Netherland! Ja, heel veel vruchten, niet alleen de fijne tomaten komen uit ons burenland! Later I'll read your V&V tribute -enjoy your holidays in Atlanta, I hope it is not too hot there -here we have the best late summer weather!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Philine! It is the humidity that bothers us more than anything but it's not as hot as it could be, so I'm glad. And most of the time we're indoors where there is air-conditioning, of course. Hotlanta! Nothing like it! smile

Now you can see the pumpkins ...
Ginnie Hart: Ahhhh. The pumpkins. I'll look for them when we fly back to the Netherlands!
What is this Labor Day you speak of? I'm not a Yankee or a Canuck wink

Confucius, please. One of the most stressed-out, ambitious, careerist individuals to be awarded the recognition of great philosopher. Now Lao-Tzu was the actual chilled-out guy.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Confucius say...and everyone listens. grin Too bad Lao-Tzu didn't come up in the quotes when I Googled!

"Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers." (I guess Canadian, too?!)

All very neatly displayed Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: You know those Dutch, Chris!!! smile HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I liked the traditional look smile
Ginnie Hart: Me, too, Joshi. Thanks.
The slugs seem to have eaten most of what i planted!
Ginnie Hart: Ohhhh, you poor thing. sad
Great post,'just up my street'.
Ginnie Hart: I love it, too, Martin. My kind of sight. Thanks.
Fruits of the earth Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Peter! With a bit of TLC (tender, loving care).
A charming presentation Ginnie!
Very wise words smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. I always loved those "Confucius say" quotes. smile
Mmm - so, if I've never done a day's work in my life, why do I feel so tired? smile Nice twiddle on the pic.
Ginnie Hart: Good question, Tom. I guess for every pro there's a con??? grin Thanks.

Lucky then for the old boy that he was fortunate in being able to choose. Happy holidays to you both.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chad. Not everyone has that privilege, for sure! Thanks for the greeting. We're having a great time.
I can't read the words in your photo but recognize the veggies. Hope you're still enjoying your stay in the USA.
Ginnie Hart: All in Dutch, of course, Mary, and some I can't read either! We're having a great time here in America. Thanks.

Someone went to a great deal of trouble to arrange such a artistic road-side stand. Nicely spotted and captured.

I'm assuming you are having a GRAND time with family and friends in Atlanta.
Ginnie Hart: We passed this roadside stand out in the country and then backed up to take pictures, Sue. So idyllic! I LOVE stuff like this. smile And yes, we're having a grand time with the kids. Yesterday all 6 of us went bowling...Astrid's first time in 20 years! smile

Great shot and love the flowers too. The farmer did a great job. I know people will love to buy from him.
I agree with Confucius...however not having to leave the house for doing a job is a very appealing thought to me. I can work at home wink.
Happy Labor Day, does that also count in a vacation?
Ginnie Hart: I would love it if you could work from/at home and not have to go anywhere throughout the week! (sigh) One day, maybe soon!

And yes, Labor Day counts in a vaction!!!
Very nice and lovely colors.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Victoria!
For some reason this image reminds me of an antique seed packet. A very artistic display of the fruits of labor, Ginnie. So glad to hear that you and Astrid are having such a great time on your holiday in the States. Happy Labour Day!
Ginnie Hart: Now that you mention it, Beverly, yes, I see that packet of old-timey seeds. smile Thanks. And yes, we're having a great time with the kids! Yesterday we all went bowling and decided we need to make it a tradition every year...if my body can still handle it. grin
Happy Labor Day to you all... lovely muted colors in this one...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
A beautiful and well organized display Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Richard!
I do like this, whenever we see one of these Maureen mulls over stopping for the next few miles by which time we are too far away to go back of course.
Ginnie Hart: HA! That's too funny, Brian. We often pass and then we quickly stop and back up...because it's on the back roads, often with no/little trafic. smile
Ha... You fooled me so well!
I thought that was a Dutch Colony Settlement in Georgia! ;o)

May 1st is our Labour Day in Malaysia.
But people in England do not observe this practice. They have May Bank Holiday instead.

I miss you already - come back to Europe soon.
I know you miss the Gouda cheese, canals and windmills. Admit it. ;o)
Ginnie Hart: Yes, I admit it, LC. I miss my European home which is much more like me than any place else. But I usually can't tell my family that! smile

Ah yes.. Labor Day! I hoe you had a good day and that you are both enjoying our trip. Fine words from Confucius. I always say no matter how much I enjoy my work (and I do, generally), I enjoy not working even more smile
Ginnie Hart: Astrid hears you on that, Alan. She always says she loves her job but will love retirement even better! smile
fruits of labor, lovely shot Ginnie... i think it's labor day in canada too, or maybe we are just riding on your holiday coat tails
Ginnie Hart: Someone else said it was Labor Day in Canada so I'll take your word for it. Maybe we're riding on YOUR coat tails?! smile
