Dog Days of Summer

We've finally broken 70°F (21°C) for several days in a row this summer.

Exactly my kind of coolness and...talk about the life of Riley!

(somewhere near us in the Netherlands)

Have a cool weekend!

Those dawgs have their human exceptionally well trained, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I believe so, Ray! smile
A fabulous capture!!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Robin. Did it wake you up?! grin
Wonderful! This guy is very cool in more ways than one! And so are the pups! I never tire of seeing the photos you and Astrid post of the green, green grass of the Netherlands, and these big old windmills!
Ginnie Hart: This actually looks more like spring than summer, Elizabeth, doesn't it! I think the texture I used really brightened it up but still, this is truly the Netehrlands! I have fallen in love with it! Thanks.
Great shot of the canal with the windmill in the background Ginnie... dogs just love to ride in boats... they like the wind in their faces....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter. Dogs sure do like the wind, don't they. I totally understand because so do I but I haven't yet dared to stick my head out the car window. grin

Water, boats, a mill and a happy dog. Ask astrid what woof is in Netherlandese
Ginnie Hart: That would be WOEF, Chris and pronounced the exact same way. How fun. The life of Riley, indeed. smile

smile We often see dogs on boats like this and they love the wind .....
Great shot. More Dutch you cannot get. Now I know why a lot of people love to visit The Netherlands.
I never get tired of shots like this. Love it.
.........and yes Summer is here..... we might hit 91,4F (33C)(306 Kelvin)......
Ginnie Hart: You know how much I love these views of your wonderful country, MLMA. The things we see...and with a windmill in the background!

Thank God our apartment stays cool because 91 F is a bit too hot for me. But then, one day every summer won't kill me. grin
les chiens sont heureux de voyager aussi,je trouve que les couleurs sont trop vives....j'aurais juste réchauffer le cliché
Ginnie Hart: The texture I used really brightened up this image, l'Angevine, almost making it look like spring instead of summer...and I just decided to let it stay over the top! HA! Merci.
In between the torrential rain here they are threatening heat and humidity....looks goo on that boat though
Ginnie Hart: I think our week of higher temps is preparing us for what will hit us in America next week, Bill. So I guess I can be grateful! Thanks.

70's??? I don't think it's been anything less than 90 for a couple of weeks now!! And - what a fun image. Love the dog in the boat...the distant windmill. So quintiseentially (sp?) Dutch!
Ginnie Hart: We're very lucky, Marcie, aren't we...to not be TOO hot. But then, remember we don't have a/c except in some stores. TWO dogs in the boat, btw. The life of Riley. smile Thanks.
Hahaha. Wonderful capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It's a dog's life, Janet! grin Thanks.
You've captured a very relaxed scene here. Lovely. It has been 20 at 6am most mornings this week. Today is 23 and rainy, tomorrow back to 28. I must say this heat is getting a bit tiring.
Ginnie Hart: This is such a typical Dutch scene, Mary, for the summer. I love it. But getting hot is NOT something I cherish at this time of the year. I'm just glad it's been very cool the last two summers...excpet for right now.
..this is the old Dutch school of painting, Ginnie: Northern Renaissance.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I was hoping you of all people would notice, Juan Carlos. grin Thanks for the smile.

what a beautiful shot... so much to please the eye smile
Ginnie Hart: You're most kind, Elaine. Thanks! smile
It's been rather cloudy and windy here in London these few days.
Where have all the dog days gone?
Ginnie Hart: I actually prefer cloudy and windy, LC. I don't do well in the heat, especially with no a/c. Remember, I lived in Hotlanta for 25 years, moving from one a/c place to another! smile

Next you will be turning off the heating Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHA! You're too funny, Chad. grin
Just messing about in boats, what better way to spend a lazy summer day.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, John. I think that was the plan that day. smile
What an idyllic looking scene! Lovely Ginnie smile Have a great weekend!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Martin, on both counts!

Just the thing to do on those laze, hazy, crazy days of summer. I'm sure the dogs appreciated their time on the water.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Alan. Those are two smart dogs! smile Thanks.

Who is the boss? Especially with no-one steering smile Typical relaxed dutch summer day. Enjoy.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Louis. Just going with the flow. I love it. Thanks.
It is a wow-photo. I do love it.
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Sartenada. Thank you. Kiitos.
I would love to be in a boat like that drifting along but I will leave the dogs on shore.
Ginnie Hart: So fun, Michael, just thinking about it, right? And so Dutch. Just drifting along on a Saturday afternoon! smile

sounds like beautiful weather! can't wait for temps to drop here too.. i see that gentleman & his 2 companions are enjoying it already.. nice catch!
Ginnie Hart: This is hot for us, Rian. Thank God we don't get much hotter. I do much better in the cooler temps!
Now that's the way to spend ones time, with a great little windmill thrown in for good measure.
Ginnie Hart: Don't you just love when these windmills pop up, Brian!!! Thank you.
Over here is Delhi, we have to endure 40+degree celcius. 21 is what we get in the winters.
Ginnie Hart: I can't imagine living in that kind of heat, Navin. Now I know why I live in the Netherlands!!!
Fantastic view, dogs probably were happy. I am greeting
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Zielona. I think the dogs were ecstatic! smile
Simply wonderful and refreshing Ginnie. We have 37°C here today!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Richard. Merci. 37°C is way too hot for me. In fact, 27°C is too hot for me! (sigh)
Typically a cool shot, peaceful, and friendly. You are right to escape. Have a lovely week-end Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Flo. Merci. Just what the doctor ordered for a lazy, hot Saturday afternoon!

Ginnie Hart: Just the way we like it in the summertime, Peter! Thanks.
beautiful and pleasant photo, seems to navigate a sea of green
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Fabrizio. Summer at its best! Grazie.
Happy looking dogs, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Tom. smile Thanks.
Cool and amazing landscape.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marie. Merci.
Nice title, nice picture, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir, on both counts. smile
I keep being surprised by how lush everything is. I think it's because we're accustomed to see the canals frozen over and people skating. I've never really thought what they might look like in summer.

A marvelous capture of mutual contentment!
Ginnie Hart: The Netherlands does have its summery side, Linda. HA! Thanks for the smile.

beautiful shot and your signature treatment. the rider could just read a book while the two look outs do the rest
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Ayush. This is the epitome of summer, I think! smile
It looks so relaxing! I can imagine myself there with a book on hand smile
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Charles. A good book and a glass of wine. Nice. smile
It looks very relaxing...
