Wonderful stuff, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Well, thank you, Ray. I don't see this as "one of my best" but I sure had fun with the mood of it.
excellent composition. i like the way you kept the grassy background. good subjects for the selective coloration too
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush. Most of the beaches in the Netherlands are bordered by sand dunes, so this is very typical. The beach is not far behind me in this image.
the selective coloring makes it lively smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Joshi. I really was drawn to the children in this image...especially as I felt their exuberance spread to the mammas.

I think a lot of people learned how to swim wink
Great shot, love the selective colouring. Kids only need, sand, water and a bucket....and in the end an ice cream smile
Ginnie Hart: Kids are always willing to lead us if we're willing to follow! I loved the exurberance of these kids and how excited everyone seemed about heading to the beach! And yes, there's always ice cream at the end! smile

Then you did the best thing possible Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Someone's gotta do it, Chris, right? grin Thanks.

Is this the Netherlands highest mountain Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: Well, Chad, you might be close. The sand dunes along the coastline are truly "high" compared to the rest of the country. HA!
I haven't been to the beach for ages....sad
Ginnie Hart: It was too cold to even think about swimming, Bill, but I love the beach just for the beach itself!

some people say that all health stems from emotional health, so i conclude that you must be the most emotionally healthy person on earth, Ginnie smile love the picture!
Ginnie Hart: I would like to give a healthy AMEN to that, Elaine. I do believe there's a lot of truth to what you have said! smile Thanks.

The composition here is great, Ginnie and really enhanced by the colour of the children
Ginnie Hart: You're most kind, Lisl. Thank you.
kids and colour go together always, Ginnie. I move 3 meters away, just in case.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Juan Carlos. They were all in front of me before I could say Jack Sprat. smile

nice shot and great selective colours work
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Noel.
Ha ha...
Tell me this is not a movie sequel or prequel...
I know what you did this summer...

Did you shoot someone?
With your camera, perhaps?
Ginnie Hart: You really have me pegged, LC, don't you. HA! grin
I went to the beach a lot this very hot summer. When I visited my granddaughter I acted like a kid. We've had a similar summer.
Ginnie Hart: Nothing quite like beach memories, Mary! Your granddaughter will love her memories with g'ma!
Nicework Ginnie !
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marie. Merci.

Marvelous composition Ginnie with beautiful selective colouring. Looks like it is going to be a fun day at the beach !
Ginnie Hart: Tank you, Laurette. It was actually pretty cool that day and a bit overcast, but these kids didn't ssem to care...and neither did I. smile

Nothing wrong with that, then. Looks like one of the little ones came on his mum's bike?
Ginnie Hart: Maybe, Alan. And then when he was the water...no holding him back! smile
Great perspective Ginnie, I really like all the textures & of course the selective colour. The children look to be having a whale of a time grin
Ginnie Hart: For children these summer memories seem endless! It's always good to go back and relive them. Thanks, Martin.

It's the 'acting like kids' that's the best part. Love the selective coloring here!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marcie. The older I get, the more freedom I give myself to act like a kid. Astrid helps. smile
Your getting very good at this colour popping Ginnie. I see the bikes go to the beach as well. I think I would also enjoy the stroll down this little lane as well as the beach itself.
Ginnie Hart: The little lane is definitely half the fun, Brian! Thank you.
Rather fine, makes a good shot, are these coastal defences, dunes, one always expects the Netherlands to look flat smile
Ginnie Hart: Astrid says the sand dunes are definitely natural coastal defences. If the dunes aren't there, they have to build dijks, otherwise much of the Netherlands would be under water! Thanks, John.
My dearly beloved has been working a lot so I have to say not much. Family stuff really. Three are in Cornwall and one is in St Albans. Great shot
Ginnie Hart: The only reason we were there, Janet, was to meet up with blogger friends from Sweden who were spending the night there. It was a good reason to go to the beach. So glad to see you back again! Thanks for your comment.
les enfants ont les maillots de notre équipe de foot....
Ginnie Hart: It's a good color, l'Angevine, isn't it! Merci.
Well done Ginnie. Really eye catching!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. Merci.

Where are the swimming costumes ?
Excellent processing. Great work, well done !!!
Ginnie Hart: It was way too cold for swimming, Elsabe. But playing on the beach is still fun, of course...and wading! smile
Our idea was to take Ryan to Fleetwood beach this summer, but because of the weather we have yet to take him.
Ginnie Hart: It was too chilly to swim, Mick, but wading and playing on the beach works just fine...and flying kites! smile

This is very much a fun picture. You can experiment somewhat with cropping both off the top and bottom. Could bring about another perspective, like they are doing the long road.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Louis, and good idea. I actually had several images in a sequence on this scene, one with the two kids up close that I almost chose. I opted in the end for this one because of the size of the sand dunes...if that makes sense. It's not a typical view of the beach, right?

that's the best way to spend the summer.. smile nice catch!
Ginnie Hart: A summer without the beach is like....well, you can finish the sentence. grin Thanks, Rian.
...and did a little colour picking when I got home=1
Ginnie Hart: HA! Exactly, Tom. smile

Young at heart is always the best philosophy smile
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Cherry. Thanks. smile
Kids have all the colour in our lives Ginnie !!... that's what keeps us young....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: You have a good point, Peter!!! Thanks.
This is great, Ginnie! I love that you just kept the kids in color!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. I had another image with the kids up close but not as many women or the sense of how big the sand dunes are. So I settled on this one. smile
That is such a lovely use of selective colour.
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Michael. Thanks.

Got cold and wet every time we went out Ginnie but it never put us off going to the beach, love the touch of blue on this.
Ginnie Hart: Our kind of summer, too, Peter, but I'd rather be cool/cold than hot, truth be told! Thanks.
No better way to spend the day Ginnie! This summer Becky and I took a long road trip out West. At times, it made us feel young again :^)
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Doug. Some things and places come out of a deep place within us...and seem to beckon us back. Thank you.
Nothing as wonderful as what you've been doing but the gardening has been good. Love what you did with the photo!
Ginnie Hart: Gardening is always good, Maery! There's something about being in touch with Mother Earth like that. Thanks!

Superb image - love the foreshortening of the road and the big space of grass around, the ladies - all looking content.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, George. This was such a blissful, summery scene for me...even though that day it was wonderfully cool!
cute!!!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Dennis. smile
Beautiful photo Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Charles. Thank you.
