Ginnie: Well, thank you, Ray. I don't see this as "one of my best" but I sure had fun with the mood of it.

Ginnie: Thank you, Ayush. Most of the beaches in the Netherlands are bordered by sand dunes, so this is very typical. The beach is not far behind me in this image.

Ginnie: Thank you, Joshi. I really was drawn to the children in this image...especially as I felt their exuberance spread to the mammas.

Ginnie: Kids are always willing to lead us if we're willing to follow! I loved the exurberance of these kids and how excited everyone seemed about heading to the beach! And yes, there's always ice cream at the end!

Ginnie: Someone's gotta do it, Chris, right? Thanks.

Ginnie: Well, Chad, you might be close. The sand dunes along the coastline are truly "high" compared to the rest of the country. HA!

Ginnie: It was too cold to even think about swimming, Bill, but I love the beach just for the beach itself!

Ginnie: I would like to give a healthy AMEN to that, Elaine. I do believe there's a lot of truth to what you have said! Thanks.

Ginnie: Tank you, Laurette. It was actually pretty cool that day and a bit overcast, but these kids didn't ssem to care...and neither did I.

Ginnie: For children these summer memories seem endless! It's always good to go back and relive them. Thanks, Martin.

Ginnie: Astrid says the sand dunes are definitely natural coastal defences. If the dunes aren't there, they have to build dijks, otherwise much of the Netherlands would be under water! Thanks, John.

Ginnie: The only reason we were there, Janet, was to meet up with blogger friends from Sweden who were spending the night there. It was a good reason to go to the beach. So glad to see you back again! Thanks for your comment.

Ginnie: It was way too cold for swimming, Elsabe. But playing on the beach is still fun, of course...and wading!

Ginnie: It was too chilly to swim, Mick, but wading and playing on the beach works just fine...and flying kites!

Ginnie: Thank you, Louis, and good idea. I actually had several images in a sequence on this scene, one with the two kids up close that I almost chose. I opted in the end for this one because of the size of the sand dunes...if that makes sense. It's not a typical view of the beach, right?
