Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marcie. It felt like it was part of track and field for me! grin
WOW WOW WOW!!!!! I LOVE THIS!!
Ginnie Hart: Awww. Thanks, Robin. All their ducks in a row, waiting for the race to begin. smile

I have given up on beer for a month...perhaps a little red wine....
Ginnie Hart: A little red wine is good for the heart and soul, Ray. That's my motto for the race! smile

Nice DOF!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Amit.
Wonderful image Ginnie! I love this!!
And yes, YAY for the Olympics!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. It's been such a joy to be glued to the TV these last days!
Have to agree with you Ginnie. Great image, excellent perspective and light! Wonderful work on this one, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. I do love a good Olympics show! smile

I bet some of the athletes were drunk, after winning their Golden Medal.
Fabulous picture, absolute fabulous!!! Love the point of focus and the DOF.
It is great to watch the Olympics.
Ginnie Hart: Drunk with joy and excitement! These goblets reminded me of track and field when they're all lined up for the beginning of the race. smile Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA. It's been so fun seeing the Summer Olympics with you...our first.
WOW!!...i'll drink to Canada's first gold medal by Rosie MacLennan on the trampoline Ginnie... great picture and treatment....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: We watched some of the trampoline event yesterday, Peter (till they switched to another venue), and I told Astrid I was thrilled this had become an Olympic sport. So much precision and accuracy! BRAVO to your Rosie...and to Canada.

Yes, I agree absolutely with you - really GREAT Britian! A fine photo!
Ginnie Hart: And so soon on the heels of the Golden Jubilee, they've got to be popping all their buttons!

I can just imagine the chinking as these are rattled Ginnie. Home advantage for Great Britain eh?
Ginnie Hart: Clink all your glasses, Chad, because this has been a hum-dinger for you. I can just imagine the excitement these days...and well deserved!

I will go along with that Ginnie: when GB won three gold medals the other evening even I got caught up in it all!
Ginnie Hart: If I hear one Brit say Bah Humbug, Chris, I'll shoot him/her dead, on the spot. It's been a FABULOUS Olympics. We've been glued to the TV every day (even while Astrid has been playing around with her new toy). Yesterday we were THRILLED to see Andy Murray win the Gold in tennis. For us that will be the crowning glory of these Games!
Great picture Ginnie, The Olympics has been amazing.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. You can all be very proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Olympiade this end is reducing alcohol ingesta, so your image is not helping at all grin Nevertheless, another fine glass blowing of yours.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, I'm sure there's a time to celebrate for all, before too long. Thanks, Juan Carlos. I love the connection to the glass blowing, too. smile
wow this is so beautiful, sister Ginnie!!! the simplicity and oh the DOF!!!
Ginnie Hart: Very kind of you, Elaine. Thanks.
Wow ! very nice composition Ginnie. Beautiful framing and golden reflections
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marie. This reminded me of the track and field start-ups, for some reason. smile Merci.

Blimey Ginnie ... are you expecting us to celebrate ... er umm ok then perhaps just a small one ;;-)
Ginnie Hart: You better celebrate, Richard. These Games have been spectacular, especially for YOUR country!!! One of the best Olympics ever, imho.

Great image, Ginnie! You selected the perfect glass to focus on. Love the DoF.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Sue. It really did remind me of the line-up in the track and field events right now! smile
j'apprécie cette ambiance de bar où on se prendrait bien un coteau du layon qui est de la même couleur que ton filtre....
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, l'Angevine. Merci.
Canada is not doing well in the medal counts. Darn! No reason to drink. Cool shot, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, I don't mind GB having their day in the sun this time around, Mary, especially on the heels of the Diamond Jubilee. I love it for them! Thanks.

I got so excited on Saturday night watching Mo Farrah, I threw a bottle of wine across the lounge carpet. The stain will be my Games legacy smile

I worked it out that given the fact that the US has round 5.8 times as many people as the UK, if we were the same size, then we would have around 83 Gold metals, so we're in the lead, pro rata smile
Ginnie Hart: It makes sense to me, Alan, totally. You really can be proud!!! smile

A excellent capture Ginnie with with fabulous selective focus and beautiful light. This is by far the best Olympics, even South Africa has won a few Gold medals. Great Britian is doing fantastic !
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Laurette, and BRAVO for the Brits!!! And you SAs, too. smile
Yeah, we (of course, Malaysia) finally got a silver yesterday! Ha ha~

I still don't understand why it's Team GB not Team UK?! Cos Team GB excludes Northern Ireland! Ha...

Britain is ready for separation?
Let's begin with Scotland! Ha...

Imagine Scotland finally got independence from England one day... Will Scottish children start to learn Scottish Gaelic at school?
That will help them to create a national identity, right? Ha grin
Ginnie Hart: I give you an inch and you take a mile. HA! grin

To London Caller: "Great Britain is the team that sends athletes from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) plus the three Crown dependencies and all but three of the British overseas territories, to the Olympic Games. It is organised by the British Olympic Association (BOA) as the National Olympic Committee for Great Britain and Northern Ireland. While the BOA and the overall games organizers the International Olympic Committee (IOC) both refer to the team as Great Britain, allocating them the IOC country code GBR, the BOA also currently uses the brand name Team GB for the team, explaining that Team GB is the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team."
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for that addition, Philine! Now I feel educated. smile
Nice shot, after what seemed like a slow start the Olympic spirit has really taken hold, the warmer weather helps a lot also, despite the short heavy showers.
Ginnie Hart: Interestingly, John, I never noticed the "slow start" but caught up from the beginning and have just watch it all accelerate with each day! You can really be proud of Team GB and your wonderful country, which I'm loving to visit time after time!

I like this - the march of athletes during the opening ceremony and then for each event, the focus fall on one (sometimes more) of them. Likey.
Ginnie Hart: You've just made my day, Louis. Thank you. I hadn't thought of the Opening Ceremony yet but that certainly is part of this image for me now. smile
A fine repetitive image!
Ginnie Hart: Harstikke bedankt, Wim.

I hate that my comments are still not "taking" at your blogsite. I wonder why???
me too! wish I was in London for this event!
Ginnie Hart: I almost feel like I'm there, Dennis. Almost! smile
Stunningly beautiful image! I love the tone, composition & focus Ginniesmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir!
You win the gold for this one, Ginnie. A sure winner in my book.
Ginnie Hart: You're such a sweetheart, Beverly. Thank you kindly.
Hello again, G. wink

I found the answer to my Team GB question here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19047586

I didn't know that Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man were all in Team GB!! Ha ha...

Ha ha... got carried away and off topic a bit earlier. 1st silver for Malaysia, i'm over the moon.
Ginnie Hart: Great link, LC. Philine also left this quote:

This is a stunner, Ginnie - you should take it up professionally!
Ginnie Hart: You're too generous, Lisl. But thank you!
The lighting and bokeh are really nice. The darkness makes everything look like they're hovering in outer space.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Michael, for stopping by and commenting here. I like the "hovering in outer space" idea. smile

I've been watching the Olympics and GB has been doing really well! The opening ceremonies were really cool, especially with the queen making her acting debut!! smile

Canada isn't so high on the medal counts, but I am still so proud of all our athletes! smile
Ginnie Hart: This is the year, I think, for GB to bask in their glory, especially on the heels of the Diamond Jubilee. It's been a great show for them now for several weeks!

BTW, I just left a comment on your site but don't see that it "took." Could you please make sure it's not in your Spam Box. Thanks. I've been having that problem with a few sites lately.
A great image Ginnie and yes it is a great time for GB at the moment with the games. I must admit I'm one of those who felt we should be spending our money on other things but our sports men and women have done us proud so far, with more to come hopefully.
Ginnie Hart: You can be very proud, Brian, of this international camaraderie, worth every cent you're having to spend...and hopefully make, as well. Astrid and I are hooting and hollering all the way, except, of course, when our own countries come into question. HA!
Beautiful photograph, super idea. I am greeting
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Zielona.
A fine capture Ginnie, nicely isolated!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Fred!
OUTSTANDING COMPO. Bravo Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Flo. Merci. It's really nice to see you again!
I've got the champagne ready in the cellar, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: YAAAAY. I have a feeling you'll need a lot of it by the time these Games are done, Tom!!! smile Congratulations.
There appears to be a lack of gravity...
Ginnie Hart: HA! Indeed, Larry! Much like many of the athletes I've seen lately. smile

Top up your glass and toast a few more Golds in the next few days, wish we could be with you to fill a few glass.

It's certainly been spectacular. Over here in Australia the lack of gold medals is causing all manner of bun-fights. The media is calling it a 'gold-drought' puh-lease! We are terribly bad sports as a nation.
