I bet this is a champion of the Olympics Games of 2024.
Love the selective colouring.
We will be glued to the tube to see Marianne Vos this Sunday.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marianne_Vos Talk about learning early.
Ginnie Hart: Don't you just love when they start young like this! The Dutch are practically born on their bicycles. HA! And yes, we'll be glued to the TV for several days now! Bedankt.
this is such fun Ginnie!!! ... not gas required... just rev-up those red rubber bootsgrin....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: HA! I like that, Peter...rev up those red rubber boots. grin

a nice scene - suiting the day - and humorous words! I'll be glued to the TV, too - only the heatwave is a bit stressing, esp. for the athletics - rain could come...
Ginnie Hart: Let's hope everybody stays cool, Philine, in more ways than one! Bedankt.

I bet you have been saving this up for the great day, Ginnie! Love it, as you would say!
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Lisl, I had this up for next week until I realized it'd be perfect for today. smile Don't you love how that happens?! Thanks.

That's a standard boy thing Ginnie but not all of them progress to huge powerful bikes in the end
Ginnie Hart: Sad but true, Chris. But the hope endures. smile
il veut faire comme les grands et sans les pédales,c'est trop émouvant de les voir ainsi réussir leur premier pas....
Ginnie Hart: In no time at all he will be a real pro, l'Angevine. smile Merci.
Nice work on the partial desaturation
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Marie. Merci.

What fun!! Love how you do your selective coloring. This one is perfect!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marcie. I know it's not everyone's cuppa tea but I sure love doing it. smile
Takes me back to the day I insisted on the stabilisers being removed Ginnie, and went on to cycle much of Western Europe and beyond!
Ginnie Hart: A real Olympic champion, then, Fred, in my book! Good for you. smile

The spot colour makes these colours stand out even more Ginie.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Chad. Thanks. He deserves a Gold Medal already. smile
Boy or girl, a flying start smile
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, John. smile Thanks.
I really like the selective colouring in this instance.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Mary. I know it's not everyone's cuppa tea but I sure have fun doing it. smile

Who knows, Ginnie; perhaps one day he will be World Cycling Champion just like our Mark "The Missile" Cavendish! Now the Games have started, even I'm quite excited. I found the Torch Relay for the past 70 days to be around 69 days too long sad
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Alan. Your cyclists had quite the Tour de France this year, ending with a Big Bang! And the first game of the Olympics the other day, we saw Team GB beat NZ in women's soccer. So you're off to a great start. The games have already begun! As regards those torch bearers, let them have their day(s) in the sun! smile

A wonderful and very cute capture for the opening of the Olympic Games Ginnie. Love your selective colouring in this shot and a great title !
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Laurette. This is an exciting time for those of us who really get into the Olympics! smile
Life is in there Ginnie! You start with a bike to finish in a Vespa...
Ginnie Hart: Exactly my line of thinking, Juan Carlos. smile Gracias.
Very well done Ginnie, isn't it funny how once one has learnt to ride a bike it becomes second nature, but getting there in the first place is really difficult isn't it. Anyway may G.B's. best win their Olympic events, Netherlands best win theirs, oh and perhaps the USA might win a couple of medals as well smile
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Brian. Team GB already won their women's first soccer game, as did also the USA. So we're off to a good start, even before the Opening Ceremony! smile

And isn't it brilliant when you first manage to balance it upright. Like your conversion.
Ginnie Hart: I remember that day, Louis, on a gravel road in front of our house. smile Thanks.
Opening ceremony tonight...rumour is that Sir Roger Bannister might be the one to light the flame
Ginnie Hart: Our eyes will be pealed on the TV, Bill, even though it will be late for us (10-1:30)!!!

Vroom vroom...and off he goes! This reminds me of my middle grandchild; blond hair and all! You seem to be the 'master of selective color!' (a technique I haven't mastered yet! LOL)
Ginnie Hart: Selective coloring isn't everyone's cuppa tea, Sue, but I love doing it. Once you know how to do it, it's very easy! It would be a quick Skype. smile Thanks.
I like the coloration of his bike and boots. Great touch Ginnie. Ha, you could compete in the photography Olympics with your imagination!
Ginnie Hart: You're a sweetheart, Doug. Thank you. This was fun. I LOVE the Olympics. smile
