Stand aside, Ginnie...they are marching through...
Ginnie: I stood aside and they marched through like I wasn't even there, Ray! smile

No doubting they belong together as a group ;-)
No holiday here ... enjoy yours!
Ginnie: And there was another bunch waiting for them in town. smile It was fun to see how harmless they all were. Thanks, Geoff.
In Canada we have Remembrance Day on November 11th each year... It is equivalent to Memorial Day. ...
I like the woman's red hair matching the sleeves of her jacket.
Ginnie: Ahhh, yes, on the timing of your Memorial Day, Jacquelyn. Here in the Netherlands it's our second Pentecost day!

That lady's hair was really that red, believe it or not! smile
It is a holiday for me! Will be going to the Museum of Northern Arizona to watch a Zuni dance /music festival! No doubt Matt will come home with some amazing piece of handmade pottery! smile
This is a great capture of this group of living teddy bears!
Ginnie: Thank you, Elizabeth. Enjoy your day out and come back with lots of pictures. smile

What wonderful leathers they have, Ginnie - well caught
Ginnie: Truth be told, Lisl, I'm envious! smile Thanks.

A fine picture of people taking their interest right through their lives Ginne. It's not a holiday here but next week it will be for the Queen's jubilee
Ginnie: Thanks, Chris. Harley cyclists like this really are "tried and true" to their core. It's fun to see.

Enjoy your holiday next week, then. We'll practice it for you today. smile

Yes, for us, too - and do enjoy it together with Astrid! Het weer is heel prachtig!
Wow, the Harley Davidson fans (Pohh, what machines that let jump up some hearts!) look a bit martial, whereas the ironic- funny (?) words 'Teddy bears' sound so cosy- kuschelig -but they might be a friendly- peaceful group - do they want climb down to the Cheddar Gorge in this gear?
Ginnie: So often we see the Harley Davidson "gangs" as striking fear into the hearts of everyone...until you get up closer and realize they're all teddy bears with soft hearts. This is definitely when you can't tell a book by its cover. smile Bedankt, Philine.
Yes Chris is right following though their desires in all aspects ...

Of course the lady at the front is thinking ... ''No no, this is the correct clothing to wear in a heatwave ... But that summer frock would have felt good.''
Ginnie: Thanks, Richard. These cyclists become live, walking collector's museums with everything they wear on their leathers. It's so fun to see. That particular day it was still relatively cool so I bet their get-up felt good. Too warm, though, for today!

Nice outifts, Ginnie...

No rest for the braves ;-)
We had a long week-end last week, here in Canada. I hope you enjoy yours
Ginnie: Thanks, Anyes. Yours was last weekend, ours is now, and apparently the UK's is next week. Let's spread it out!
Harley's rules !!!
Ginnie: When it comes to motorcycles, I'm guessing everyone would agree, Eduardo. smile Gracias.
Born again bikers
Ginnie: I'm sure you're right, Bill. smile
What a nice processing way
Ginnie: Bedankt, Chantal.

Absolute great shot and I love the selected colouring. I bet they have lots of camaraderie on these tours they do. I think it is a way of living. They have great bikes smile
Ginnie: Remember in the Wizard of Oz when it started out in B&W and then became color? I love when that happens. smile But yes, this is a way of life for these cyclists. I'm guessing it fills up everything they do. Hartstikke bedankt, MLMA.

haha, it's the midlife crisis gang, roaming the streets, looking for trouble smile cute pic!!!
Ginnie: HAHA. I like that, Elaine. Maybe that's why they seemed so tame. smile Thanks.

Yes, in France too... smile But I have 15 holidays.

Is the hell angels?
Ginnie: WOW. 15 holidays. That's a lot. I have a feeling the Dutch have as many!

Hells Angels do come to mind whenever I see these motorcycle "gangs," Oscar, but I bet they're all very tame. It's just how they look that strikes terror. Their bark is bigger than their bite, for sure. smile
A very nice group of enthusiasts. How not to love the Harley?
Ginnie: i love that the women are also in the mix. They seem to be having so much fun and camaraderie. smile Merci, Marie.
they look rather harmless, H.D. has managed to cater for the wild & the tame. Nice capture Ginnie.
Ginnie: Yes, Juan Carlos. I totally agree. smile Gracias.
Definitely the HD style Ginnie! Fine capture.
It's a holiday here too.
Ginnie: Thanks, Richard. Happy holiday to you, too! Merci.
This bunch certainly are well decorated. I like the red haired ladies purse. It's all studded and so appropriate for the outfit. Alas, our Victoria Day holiday was last Monday.
Ginnie: Thanks, Mary. You were last week, we're this week, and the UK is next week. It's kinda nice to spread it around, I guess! smile

Some seem to be gorged on cheddar. No holiday here, April was the big holiday month that ended with 1 May as worker's day.
Ginnie: I agree, Louis, about the cheddar. HA! Welcome back.

They are like an exotic tribe with all their medals and badges. Must be awfully hot and sweaty trapped in all that leather!
Ginnie: I like that idea, Ingrid: an exotic tribe! Indeed. It was still fairly cool that day, so I'm guessing no one had yet worked up a sweat. But now, I'm sure they'd think twice about what they're wearing. smile
The colourful people - a great shot Ginnie!
No holiday in England, today - it's been delayed a week, to conincide with the Queen's Jubilee. Next week we're on holiday Monday & Tuesday! smile
Ginnie: Thanks, Martin. And I see your day will come!

Groups much like these bikers have been known (at least here in the States) for doing some wonderful charity work. My father still talks about the escort of nearly 100 bikers as his bus returned home from his Honor Flight to Washington DC. Whoever commented above, saying 'their bark is worse than their bit' is so true!

Have a great long week-end, Ginnie.
Ginnie: You're so right, Sue. That's why I always call them teddy bears whenever I see them. Very soft hearts. I love your dad's story! Thanks.
Not a bike in sight. Just a group of colourful baby boomers out for a stroll.
Ginnie: All their bikes are in town, Beverly, or else they parked them up the gorge and are walking the short distance into town. Colorful baby boomers, indeed! smile Thanks.
They do look like a colourful bunch Ginnie! :0)
Ginnie: Indeed, Fred! Thanks.

I believe that one should never mess with people wearing leather Ginnie.
Ginnie: HAHAHA! Even if they're just teddy bears! Thanks, Chad.

I love the way you have done this image.

They have put back our bank holiday by a week to co-incide with the jubilee celebrations.
Ginnie: Thanks, Cherry. So, your day will come! smile

This is awesome. My uncle loves harleys. He would LOVE this shot. smile
Ginnie: Awww. Thanks, Emily. They were so fun to see and "catch." smile
It's great to see that the Harley enthusiasts never really grew up Ginnie... i like this shot ....petersmile
Ginnie: Thanks, Peter. My guess is once a Harley man/woman, always a Harley man/woman! smile
That is very cool processing.
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir.

Harley drivers... Like the jacket on the leftsmile
Ginnie: They are a breed unto themselves, Luiza, aren't they! smile
A wonderful capture with fabulous processing Ginnie!
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir!
Ha ha... I saw a sleuth of hardcore bears dressed up just like these people in Cheddar Gorge when I was there years ago!

Perhaps these are the cubs from the previous generation? A ha ha...

Did you see many nice vintage cars along the road in Cheddar? It's such a narrow road in the village. People like to show off their toy cars, you see. wink
Ginnie: The vintage cars were not there while we were, LC, but last year we saw a LOT of them when we were in Lacock and Avebury: http://www.ginniehart.blogspot.com/2011/09/england-lacock-avebury-castle-combe.html
i like the way you have used the selective saturation. i like those biker jackets, with their stitches, trinkets and all
Ginnie: Remember how the OZ movie started out with B&W and then switched to color, Ayush? smile Anyway, this was fun to see. Thanks.
A great place for bikers. We bumped into a bunch of them when we were there too. I like the treatment and the way they stand out. Nice one Ginnie
Ginnie: I guess it's a biker's mecca, then, Janet! We were lucky to see them. Thanks.

Oh..this is just too much fun!! Love those leather jackets!
Ginnie: Gotta smile whenever you see them, Marcie, right? smile
Nice jackets and gear.
Ginnie: Thanks, Navin. smile
They look rather more civilized than the hordes who come through here. Of course, in our 90 degree weather, they've already moved to their summer outfits - no leathers like this!

A great photo!
Ginnie: When you look at their faces, Linda, you can't help but smile. smile It was still quite cool that day in early May. I suppose by now they've stripped down. HA! Thanks.
What's the betting they are all very respectable middle class citizens from Monday to Friday and love recalling their younger days at weekends.
Ginnie: I'm very sure you are exactly right, Brian. I love the way you put it! Thanks.
