Ducked his head but wasn't quite fast enough to duck it back out again! A ferocious tiger if ever there was one smile
Ginnie Hart: I was lucky to catch him, Geoff. He was such a cutie-pie. smile Thanks.

Great shot. He looked so cute. I hope he sold some of his old toys. Queensday is in my opinion, a Happy National Party Day. For some miracle on the 30st of April there is no rain. For most people, a day off. A day of being outside. Selling things from a carpet in the street. Have silly competitions, like toilet-pot throwing....

Ginnie Hart: Thanks for sharing more about what happens on Queen's Day, MLMA. I love that someone put up a YouTube of Prince Alexander throwing the toilet pot. That was fun. I think it was my best Queen's Day thus far! smile The weather couldn't have been better!

Nicely taken Ginnie: he looks genuinely surprised
Ginnie Hart: Surprised if not inquisitive, Chris. Thanks.
I love it! The curiosity is clear!
Ginnie Hart: We have a lot to learn from kids like this, Elizabeth, don't we!

Did curiosity kill the tiger too? ;-)
Ginnie Hart: HA! Maybe so, Anyes! smile

Yes, yesterday I saw the (rather ugly) last remains of Koninginnedag in Groningen -it must be a joyful National party, and I like that the Dutch people have celebrated it this year, too, like every year- in colours and orange... - although there is a deep sadness considering Queen Beatrix and the very sad lot of her son Friso - I admire her behaviour very, very much!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Philine, there was a lot of support and sympathy for the Queen all day long, which she clearly appreciated. I, too, really admire her. We watched the TV coverage of her time in Rhenen. Very inspirational.
Although this pretty little nose cat!
Ginnie Hart: Don't you just love when kids get painted like this! smile Merci, Marie.
Un bonito retrato.

Saludos
Ginnie Hart: Muchas gracias, Bernardo.
Now there's a cutie-pie.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't he, Jacquelyn. Indeed. smile
Cute, very good Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Mick. I can just imagine what you would have done with this. smile

he looks quite puzzled. - good expression though
Ginnie Hart: He definitely was inquisitive, Mark. Thanks.
Wonderful candid portrait Ginnie. I bet his parents would love to see this
Ginnie Hart: I ended up with several of him, his mother, and his brother. Too bad I didn't get their e-mail address! Thanks, Bill.
a natural and funny expression that only children can give you so naturally!!!
Ginnie Hart: That's so true, Fabrizio. Grazie.

Love this!! What a great face!! What's the orange color about?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Marcie. Good question about the orange. The monarchy is from the House of Orange-Nassau. Even though the flag is red, white and blue, Holland's color is orange! smile
Stunning portrait Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Juan Carlos. smile
Is this the Lion King Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: If not, Chad, at least a wannabe! smile
Suitably orange Ginnie - looks like you've both got into the spirit of things, though it looks like they start them young with the bling over in Holland!
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Fred. They start them from the womb here in Holland. grin Thanks.

By the patchy colour on his lips, you can see he had a lot of sweets or something.

We saw some of the parade on BVN.
Ginnie Hart: OIt was a great day, Louis, in every way. We watched the Queen's visit to Rhenen on TV and really enjoyed it.

If it wasn't sweets, it could have been sweat from the sun! It was actually too hot for me. I had to stay in the shade.
funny photo
Ginnie Hart: Very in tune with the day, Chantal. smile
Ha! That's a vampire tiger!
You see his fangs? wink
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, LC. He was quite dangerous! smile
Peek-a-boo! Great shot Ginnie! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Martin. It was a fun day.

What a cute capture Ginnie. He tried very hard to see what was perhaps inside that long lens. Just love his very well painted little face....simply adoreable !!!
Ginnie Hart: The kids really get into the festivities here in the Netherlands, Laurette. It's been fun to watch. Big kids, too, of course. smile
Kids just love this sort of thing. Probably won't wash for a week.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Richard. It's so fun to see. smile

AAARGGHH! A scary monster! Oh no, it's only a child after all. AARARAAGGHHHH - even worse! smile smile I like the bling he's wearing.
Ginnie Hart: There was blong-bling all up and down the main streets, Alan. It was fun. We even bought 7 DVDs for €4 total. It made our day. smile

What a marvelous capture!!!
By the look in his eyes and the way he pulled his mouth Im sure he is planning to also be a great photographer when he grows up.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Maybe you're right, Elsabe. I never thought about that as the reason behind his curiosity. smile
And when he ducked his head out that nice lady with the big lens couldn't avoid taking this great picture of him.
Ginnie Hart: She was an eager beaver, Brian. smile Thanks.

An entire orange nation... wow!
Ginnie Hart: A whole orange nation, for sure, Larry. From the House of Orange-Nassau!

This is a very cute photo!! :And don't worry, Ginne. People always think I am a crazy lady with a camera. I am not sure if I can categorize my lenses as "big," though. They are pretty typical and average. smile

Nevertheless, this looks a fun day in the Netherlands.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Emily. We photographers are our own special lot, aren't we! I kinda like it. smile
Fabulous shot. So vivid! Cheers, Dave.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Dave. He was fun to catch! smile
WOWZA! What a fabulous capture! Love it!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Robin. You would have loved walking around with us that day. smile
Great fun, I don't remember face painting being a thing done when I was a kid smile
Ginnie Hart: I don't either, John, but that was so long ago. HA! Maybe we had fun in other ways?! smile Thanks.
Superb candid portrait Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir. Merci.

Ginnie Hart: He did seem to be enjoying himself, Lisl. smile Thanks.
All dolled up and nowhere to go!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Tom. Just sitting there watching the world go by, while they watched him. smile

What a great looking little painted face Ginnie... great portrait....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Peter.
The ducking worked perfectly for your composition Ginnie :^) Hope you had lots of fun!
Ginnie Hart: This was my 3rd Queen's Day here in the Netherlands, Doug, but the first one where I finally took it in and got out-n-about. Astrid as a rule likes to avoid the hubbub. This time we got into the thick of it. smile
Long live the queen. Very nice portrait
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Navin, and exactly. I have learned to respect and adore Queen Beatrix! smile
I love, love, love this candid shot, Ginnie. The deep warm colours, the cute content, everything!
Ginnie Hart: You're such a sweetheart, Beverly. Thank you.
Lovely capture Ginnie Sheila has to do this to the grandchildren when they come to visit.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter. Kids just love this kind of stuff, don't they.
Nicely caught! The expression on his face is priceless.
Ginnie Hart: Hartstikke bedankt, Wim. It was fun to experience Queen's Day this year because the weather was superb. The next day it started raining here.
tu as eu raison d'insister sur les couleurs du visage de l'enfant et mettre en fond gris....
Ginnie Hart: This was fun, l'Angevine. Merci.
