Those two chairs are absolutely perfect. I can imagine myself sitting there ....waiting. YES!
Ginnie Hart: It would be a perfect place to sit with someone else, waiting. I love it. Thanks, Marcie.

Mmmmmmmmmm...wonderful grass!
Ginnie Hart: I love the winter grasses, too, Ray, down by the sea! Thanks.
You can't fool these old eyes Ginnie... there is the cream coloured sailboat on the grass beside the second house and the other is even more obvious since its mast is taller than the housegrin... so how did i do?smile
BTW... this is a beautiful photograph....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: You nailed it, Peter. I'm particularly interested in the one behind the houses, ready to round the corner. smile Thank you.

Absolute fabulous picture. Love the view.
'Ship' is a too big word for the rowing boat that hides in the reed.
This picture looks like heaven on earth to me.
Ginnie Hart: But the ship behind the houses...I bet that would be perfect, right? smile Wouldn't it be fun to sit on those two chairs together and watch the whole world pass by. We both could die and go to heaven right on the spot!

BTW, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your image for today!!!

Such a clever composition Ginnie. I would love to see this ship when it finally show itself from behind the house smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Anyes, and I know. I like the thought of sitting there and waiting! smile

a lovely lake scene with a little feel of melancholy - fine composition! I love tghe two chairs -just for me!
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Philine. I love the winter scenes by the sea, especially when there are houses nearby. This is such a special, "sleepy" village on the IJsselmeer.

Bert Brecht, Pirate's Jenny is singing (Three-pennies-Opera):

Gentleman, today you see me washing glasses
And I make the beds for everyone.
And you give me a penny and I quickly thank you
And you see my rags and this shabby ["ragged"] hotel
And you don't know who you're talkin' to.
But one evening there'll be shouting at the harbor
And people will ask: What's all the shouting about?
And people will see me smiling while I do the glasses
And people will say: What's she got to smile about?

And a ship with eight sails
And with fifty cannons
Will lie at the waterfront.
...
Ginnie Hart: I LOVE IT, Philine. Hartstikke bedankt!

What a delightful place to live!
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Marie. smile
what a splendid and quiet atmoshere here... a place where lose yourself
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Fabrizio. I so agree. Grazie.
je me dis souvent que ça doit être génial de vivre de si près de l'eau mais en y pensant plus consciemment,évitons alors les inondations,et quant à la pêche,je me mettrais bien sur ce ponton assise sur une de ces chaises...
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, l'Angevine. The thought of living by the sea would thrill me. But then I do live near a big river and many canals and can get my thrill of the water without worrying about flooding. It may be the best of all worlds. Merci.
I love the colours of the grasses echoed in the roofs
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.

You have jogged my memory Ginnie. When I was young my mother used to use that phrase - and I actually thought she literally was waiting for a ship full of gold/money etc to arrive...
Ginnie Hart: HA! We use it often in the context of a woman waiting for a man to come into her life, Chris...as well as any good fortune. Your mother had it right. smile

The colours of your pictures recently, Ginnie, makes me think of subtle-hued paintings
Ginnie Hart: Hmmmm. I'll have to think on that, Lisl. That particular photo hunt had so many of these delightful grasses everywhere. Thank you kindly.
It must be fantasic to relax on those 2 chairs and admire the scenery smile
Ginnie Hart: I would think so, too, Magdalena. smile Thanks.
A great photo! I love the two chairs waiting on the steiger ;-)
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Wim. Those chairs were very appealing! Too bad we weren't on a mission to get to Marken. smile
What a lovely place to relax. Good find.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mary. I thought so, too.
For a minute I though they were boat-houses Ginnie grin
Ginnie Hart: And that would be nice, too, Juan Carlos. smile Gracias.
Waiting for BF. Good take Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chad. Thanks. smile
Nice one Ginnie, Have a good weekend

A very peaceful place and shot. Nice to sit in those chairs and watch the world pass by, even a little fishing would be very relaxing smile

beautiful place to live!! unless it floods lol... great shot Ginnie, and no i don't have a smart phone, so that's just my regular processing smile
Ginnie Hart: Astrid says there is a lock that regulates this IJsselmeer, Elaine, so it never floods! Isn't that the cat's meow! smile
I would enjoy sitting there and watching the world go by for a while, although I suspect it might be a tad chilly in the depths of a North Sea winter.
Ginnie Hart: Right now the weather in the Netherlands is absolutely delightful, Brian. Astrid and I would love to be sitting there right about now! smile

It must be quiter pleasant to sit on those chairs Ginnie!
Wonderful image.
Ginnie Hart: I would think that place would have many a story to share, Richard. smile Merci.
Nope - got me beaten there, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: See the mast behind the houses, Tom? smile She'll be rounding the corner any minute now. smile

Superb photo with a very nice texture. Great work Ginnie. Have a lovely evening. Amicably Antoine.
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Antoine. Merci.
Oh no, did I miss it?!
But I wouldn't mind waiting for the next ship.
Such a lovely place to wait.
After all, all good things come to he who waits.
Definitely worth the wait, G.
Ginnie Hart: No, you didn't miss it, LC. It's there behind the houses, ready to round the corner any minute now. smile

A peaceful, relaxing scene...
Ginnie Hart: I wouldn't mind going there again, Larry, but to just sit for awhile! Thanks.
A fine scene Ginnie, but you should never wait, make it but make it happen.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Les. My ship came in and we're now sailing the wide seas of the world, as you know! grin
Nice classic shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Rob.
Lovely scene. Moody and cold. I bet those chairs are a great place to sit in the summer, though!
Ginnie Hart: I bet it was wonderfully delicious this past weekend, Caryn! We had lots of sun here in the Netherlands. Thank you kindly for stopping by and commenting.
cool and meaningful smile

Un bel endroit pour y passer un week end,l air pur, loin du bruit, bref c est le repos assuré.Manque peut ètre un coin de ciel bleu, mais bon on ne choisit pas toujours....
Ginnie Hart: No, we don't always get the sun here, Jany, but I'm used to that by now. Every day and place seems to have its own beauty. Merci.
Used to be, I'd focus in on the boats. Now, it's the chairs that appeal - and the ladder for the afternoon I fall asleep on the dock and fall into the water!

I do love the sense of quiet and solitude.
Ginnie Hart: In that case, Linda, the boat in the background behind the houses is perfect! smile Thank you.
