Oh yes...it really does remind me of an old painting..or a classic pen and ink drawing. Or - maybe it is? And this is just a masterful photo of it? Wonderful!!!
Ginnie: In this case, Marcie, it is my photo with the PS Craquelure texture filter on top. I like to use it from time to time because it always reminds me of an oil painting. Thank you. smile

Fabulous image, Ginnie.

The sheep are fascinated by something they have noticed crouching in the grass in front of them...
Ginnie: Believe it or not, Ray, I'm standing off the shoulder of a back road where the dijk is in front of me. I love the dijks when whatever's on them breaks the horizon and you can see nothing on the other side. smile Thanks.
There certainly are some interesting textures to play with. I love the lined up sheep.
Ginnie: I don't think I will ever get bored with sheep, Mary, and thankfully so, since there are SO MANY here in Holland...everywhere you go! Thanks.
The sheep in the middle looks ready to spring!
Ginnie: HA! They were walking/sitting on top of the dijk, Larry and I was standing off the road below. They were curious to see someone get out of the car, I'm sure. smile Thanks.

How do you say "Baaaa" in Dutch Ginnie?
Ginnie: According to Lady Polder, it's Mééée (pronounced like Baaaaa but with an 'm' sound). So now we both know! grin

Dont suppose you have ever seen the New Zealand Movie "Black Sheep". then again if you don't like cheap and nasty horror movies ....dont watch it smile

great image
Ginnie: HA! No, I haven't seen that movie, Tony. Sounds like I can do without it for now. I'll just stick to real life.... smile
seems that lend themselves to pictures, a family portrait!!! nice Ginnie
Ginnie: Sheep love to be photographed, Fabrizio, yes! And they do seem to have family groups in my own imagination. smile Grazie.
This one clearly based on the work of the old master Van Chad
Ginnie: Now why didn't I think of Chad!!!

We were talking about the legs of the sheep yesterday, they are sticks under a lot of wool.
A beautiful picture, they lined up beautiful for you.
When we are in the car and we spot sheep, I already start looking for a dead-stop or a turning around point wink
tongue it always makes my day.
I know there is something about sheep grin
Ginnie: You are really getting to know me by now, Lady of the Polder! I saw a perfect shot the other day and did NOT ask you to stop. After awhile there's a point of no return. grin But you're right, there definitely is something about sheep! Hartstikke bedankt, mijn vrouw.
Another great painting Bravo Ginnie. A+ VAL smile
Ginnie: Merci, dear Valérie! smile

IS that a picture of an oil painting?? coz i thought it was your photo with a texture on top... it's lovely whatever it is...
Ginnie: You are exactly right, Elaine...it's my photo with a PS texture on top. I have always liked the oil-painting feel. smile Thanks.
Aren't sheep stupid ... fancy spending their time staring at a photographer ;-)

richard
Ginnie: LOL, Richard. They sure were intrigued. smile Thanks.

Wow wonderful image Ginnie
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Vintage.
A beautiful photograph, perfect framing, as well as the tonality, superb treatment, bravo Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Roland. Merci.
It works well Ginnie..Its different!
Ginnie: I guess sometimes we like different, Ron, yes? smile Thanks.
You've caught them! If they're not running away, sheep always seem to have this slightly belligerent look when facing a camera.
Ginnie: Belligerent or confused. I can never tell which, Odd. smile Thanks.
Very nice pp! looks like a painting now. The composition of the sheep against the sky is nice too.
Ginnie: This is what I love about the dijks, Wim. smile Bedankt.

Beautifully composed and fabulous processing. The texture adds to the value of this images.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Thomas. I have always liked the oil-painting filter. smile
Perfect poses on the horizon there Ginnie. You were focusing on them and they were focusing on you. The pp is just the job. I think it would make a good greetings card.
Ginnie: I think it's a mutual admiration society, Janet. smile Actually, my grandson graduates from 4th grade this week and I think I'll make a card for him out of this image. I like that idea. Thanks.

Nice one Ginnie!
Ginnie: Thank you, Nadiuska!
Holland seems to have a big influence on you Ginnie, and the wildlife in particular. I know the ultimate place for a visit. You can ask Astrid if I am right. Try Texel!!

Lovely shot and treatment!
Ginnie: Texel happens to be Astrid's vacation spot of many a year and time, Marion...and one day she will take me to see her paradise there. I can hardly wait. In the meantime, we go out almost every weekend on day-trips to see whatever we can see. This past Saturday we were in Enkhuisen and Hoorn. WOW! You're so right: Holland does have a big influence on me! smile Thanks for your visit again.

I like this oil-paint effect Ginnie. I am encouraging myself to play more with my images all the time smile. They sure line up for the photographer.
Ginnie: I have always liked the oil-painting texture, Frida, and try to use it when it seems appropriate. Thanks.

BTW, I tried to leave a comment on your post but it was rejected as Spam. I will try it again later.
Lovely and candid somehow and always this peaceful vision of countryside. Great PP Ginnie !

To come back to the clocks, yes it's defnitely a sculpture.
Ginnie: The Dutch countryside has totally grabbed me, Flo. I can't get enough of it! smile Merci.

Looks like they're posing for you smileThey look so... wholly to me and too cute! Great shot and processing, Ginnie!
Ginnie: There's just something about sheep here in Holland, Sil. I'm enthralled by them...almost as much as by the windmills. Almost. smile Thanks.
This has worked superbly Ginnie. Great effect smile
Ginnie: Thanks, Linda. It's been awhile since I've used this filter but it did seem appropriate this week. smile

Yes, I thought of Chad at once- maybe, he should paper his living room with a wallpaper like this (sorry, your photo reminds me a bit of that thanks to your pp)- your sheep look very cute, sweet, and some baffled- our German sheep like to say "Määääh, Määäh, but I'm sure they understand as well "baah" as "Méééh" (sounds French!), too - or have they to learn a special language called Sheepish? ja, de dijken worden op de beste manier door hen beschermd en vastgetreden! Goede schaapjes, dat moet ik wel zeggen!
Ginnie: I have to laugh at what the animals say here, Philine...like the cows saying Boo instead of Moo. That tickles me to no end. grin Language is such a treat, isn't it! And you always have so much to add to it all, in whatever language. I love it. Bedankt.
I'm not always a fan of this particular filter, but this is great.
Suits sheep.. smile
Ginnie: It seemed to be a good filter for this series, Rob, so I hope you're not tired of it by Friday (but that's just 3 images). It seemed to work okay here. Thanks.
lovely light and processing
Ginnie: Thanks, Derek.
Even the fluffy, woolly cloud formation cooperated for this fine old master image, Ginnie.
Ginnie: Awww, thanks, Beverly. It did seem to work this time around. smile

The sheep look rather unsettled or are they up to something?
Ginnie: The cars race by this dijk all the time, Cherie, but I'm guessing the sheep don't often see a woman get out of one to take their picture! grin That would befuddle anyone, I'm sure, to see me with my camera in their face.

Ginnie: It's fun, isn't it! smile Thanks, Virginia.
Out of all the Wadden eilanden I prefer Terschelling, but they are all nice. Enkhuizen en Hoorn are very nice places. And very typically Dutch I believe. Good thing you go round and about!!

Astrids email doesn't seem to work, I got my email back, it was not delivered. Inbox overload?
Ginnie: Astrid just told me about the Wadden eilanden. Texel is her paradise but she has been once to Vlieland, but never to Terschelling. Maybe one day we'll go together. Right now she's trying to figure out why your e-mail was returned. It happens to me sometimes with my brother in Michigan...but does NOT appear to be anything with Inbox overload? Who knows.
I like this very much Ginnie, that is a lovely texture you have added.
Ginnie: Thank you, Brian. It's a PS texture and one I have always liked.
Very cool - I like the texture used. This processing makes them look like some kind of machines out of Star Wars! Where's a Wookie when you need 'em?
Ginnie: HA! It's always fun to be reminded of those adorable Wookies. Actually, I'm thinking of the Ewoks. THEY'RE the cuties. smile Thanks, Mark.
The filter sure works in this shot. You caught them al at the perfect moment.
Ginnie: Thanks, Michael. It sure was fun.

Ginnie: Thanks, Brian. I thought so, too. smile
The texture works well here Ginnie. Nice one.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Les.

So Ginnie Hart is a dutch master now - or has she mastered dutch in a week grin

I feel like I am back there.
Ginnie: Noooooooo, Louis. The SHEEP are the dutch masters! But you'll be delighted to share my news: today I aced my first exam and will now advance to the Learning Center tomorrow (Friday). The schedule was to move a week from Monday (June 7), so I'm a bit ahead of schedule. Don't worry. I'm sure I'll be overwhelmed before long and will have to slow down! smile
Great!!!
Ginnie: Merci, Pierre, for stopping by and commenting.
