Right now I'm in the middle of scanning and listing hundreds of my US sheets of stamps on eBay. When the house sells and I move, I can't take them with me. I simply won't have room! But the good news is that I'm listing them all at face value and am making a profit. Of all collections to have right now, this is the one that is making good on it's investment. So I'm a happy camper!
I started in the 1930s 2 weeks ago and am up to 1966, the year of this sheet. This is NOT a photo but a scan...with my added border twiddle.
At Face Value...
...Life is...a circus?!

Nice one Ginnie, glad to see someone is making a profit in this day and age
Ginnie: Exactly, Tony. I've been very happily surprised. The sheets are selling like hotcakes! One guy today was buying them within 2 minutes of my listing them!
A happy image and interesting to hear you've collected them all these years. Must be a little bitter sweet to part with them.
Ginnie: I have been amazed, Sherri, that I have not grieved one second of selling these off. I think it's because I need the money for the move and see this as a serendipitous collection that I had just for this very moment in time. The Universe is watching out for me!
wow! that sure is a vast collection.. good luck on the scanning part.. ;D
Ginnie: Today a guy was actually sitting on my tail as I entered each of 40 sheets, buying them within 2 minutes of listing! That just amazes me! And that's at the Buy-It-Now price! i have been very lucky.
Life is a circus and the show must go on....., I know as nobody else what time and effort you put into this, but for the best reason, ik ben trots op je.
A great sheet of happy clowns.
(I hope that Paul is a good chauffeur, ha ha)
Ginnie: It has been totally worth it, Astrid! One day I will look back on this and be in awe of what has happened...like the guy today who was buying all my sheets withing 2 minutes after I listed them. The Universe is watching out for me/us!
Never knew you were a philatelist! Good luck with the sale and the move.
Ginnie: Oh yes, Bill, for a long time! I sold my used worldwide collection on eBay years ago...for $800. From then on I collected only unused USA stamps. And now they are a source of revenue for me! God is good!

Oh, as child I collected stamps, too! But sadly I gave away all my albums- gratis! Oh yes, "Du hast jetzt gut lachen!"/fortune is now smiling upon you! - and I'm glad that you can make some profit, too! A nice stamp that makes really good mood! But your title expresses some wisdom, too! And a beautiful photo-idea, - a la Andy Warhol's serial art!
Ginnie: This is when the Universe is cheering me on, Philine! How did I know I was collecting all these sheets for such a day as this! They are selling like hotcakes! Thanks for all your loving support, which I feel.

"A Thousands Clowns" (US- film 1965/1966 in German)
Ginnie: The stamps are real, Chris, yes. The wonderful thing about stamps is that they are as good as money...because you can still use the postage today!
They say Life is what you make of it. But it is true that sometimes circumstances prevail. I'm glad you are getting a profit there Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you, Albert. They're selling like hotcakes. One whose FV was $1.50 sold for over $27 the other day. Not all are doing that well, of course, but they're still doing well. I'm very pleased. The Universe is taking care of me.
Good for you!! And yes, life is a circus...but as long as the lions stay quite...
Ginnie: Ohhhh, Lina. I so much want to catch up on you...and I will. The lions are NOT quiet in the sense that I am working from morning to night. But I'm getting there and that's what matters. I'll come find you soon, I promise! In the meantime, gracias!
i like your use of framing on this image ginnie. a truly great hobby for collecting stamps!
Ginnie: It's been a fabulous hobby over the years, Liang, and I have no grief now in selling it all off. It was for just this time that I must have collected them all because I need the money.
Good scan of a very humerous sheet of stamps. Hope the sale goes well pre the move you want to make a.s.a.pno doubt.
Ginnie: Exactly, Brian. My daughter says I've given the message to the Universe to NOT sell the house till the stamps are all listed. She may be right. Hopefully that will be within the next couple weeks.
The picture and comment really makes a good unity here. I have some stamps I collected before I was a teenager - I doubt I could get any money selling them. Good luck on your sale
Ginnie: I has a used worldwide collection years ago, Aksel, that I sold for $800 on eBay when I decided to concentrate on USA stamps only. It was well worth all my time!
Oh that is a good stamp. Too bad you don't have any room for them. I have collected stamps on and off, but am not ready to make stamp collecting a serious thing right now, otherwise I would scoop this up quickly.
Hoped you had a good Easter with your loved ones.
Ginnie: It was very serious for me awhile back, Maria, but I haven't done anything with it for over 10 years...till now, when I need the cash! The Universe knew!
Having life as a circus beats some of the alternatives ;-)
Ginnie: I have collected stamps as long as I can remember, Kathryn, but in the beginning only used worldwide stamps. I sold my collection for $800 on eBay years ago when I decided to go to unused USA sheets of stamps. It has been well worth that time and effort from over 10 years ago. Now it is really paying off, when I need it. The Universe knew!
It must be painful to let it all go. I hope you make a nice profit by selling these.
Ginnie: Surprisingly, Navin, it has not been hard at all. I feel like the whole collection happened so that I could sell it now for the money. It's better than a job elsewhere!
1966 was a great year Ginnie.
England won the world cup for the first and only time so far!!
I am happy for you the show will go on
Ginnie: HA! Those important statistics are never to be forgotten, Tracy! The show, BTW, is almost over...the stamp show, that is. I have one more day of listing sheets and I'll be done...before moving on to something else! FINALLY.
Good luck with your move and eBay sales. If I was a stamp collector I would definitely be interested in this one. Excellent scan and the border really adds a nice touch. When I retire I plan on selling my house and all the stuff I've collected. Maybe, move into that condo, who knows. Must feel good to get rid of the clutter, Ginnie. At least your clutter is making money for you. Best of luck.
Ginnie: I am almost done listing all my stamps, John, and will feel relieved when it's all out of the house. It has been a worthy investment for just this time. I feel so lucky!
What an amazing collection you must have! It's a shame you have to part with it. I love the photo - so colorful.
Ginnie: As I have looked at every sheet again, Red Pen, I have actually been amazed myself. We have fabulous history in our stamps. It almost takes my breath away.
All the best with the sales, it sounds like you're doing well!
I don't do the stamp thing at all, but I like your image - the repetition is really cool!
Ginnie: I have one more day of listing, Ian, and I'll be done, except for the auctions to end and then mail. It's been a gigantic effort but well worth every minute. One man alone has purchased over $1,000 worth!
Wow! Such a happy set of stamps! And the border you added fits perfectly. Good luck selling them!
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Caryn, for stopping by. I'm actually at the end...with my last listings tomorrow. All auctions will end in another week, so I'm a happy camper!
I'm not a collector of any kind and sure not a business man, I still don't understand if you sold them for "face value" how can you make a profit and not losing money since the value are so different?
Anyway, you're not losing them afterall, not you have them all stored digitally! And you know what? After you settle into a new house print them all out and paste them all over the wall like wall papers! How cool will that be?
Ginnie: I START the sheets on eBay at FV, Ti, but almost all of them sell for much, much more! That's where the profit comes. For instance, I had a sheet of $1.50 FV sell for over $27. Not all do that well, but it's fun to watch.
I LOVED it when I read that I haven't lost them at all since I now have them all digitally! That is so true. I will figure out how to make money from them as well.
Ginnie: It was so fun to put up some of these sheets of stamps for others to see, Bob. We can be very proud of our philatelic heritage here in the USA!
