My grandson, Nicholas (7), loves baseball and has had chances this season to play the catcher's position. America's favorite pasttime starts very young, you know!
He is with us for the next several days because his mommy, my daughter, is getting married in Hawaii on Sunday. We leave on Wednesday to be with her and fiancé!

My Pride and Joy
My grandson, Nicholas (7), loves baseball and has had chances this season to play the catcher's position. America's favorite pasttime starts very young, you know!
He is with us for the next several days because his mommy, my daughter, is getting married in Hawaii on Sunday. We leave on Wednesday to be with her and fiancé!
Fabulous, Ginnie.
I didn't realise catchers wore so much protective gear...its a wonder he can catch when so heavily armoured.
Ginnie: HA! He actually wasn't doing a thing except sitting there in this pre-season game, Ray. But he eventually learned how to stop the ball. So cute.
Ginnie: I can't picture him being a catcher for long, Vintage, because he really doesn't have the body build. BUT he does love baseball and "gets" it. I can see him playing this sport for a long time. Thanks.
Hi Ginnie! nice shot of the little guy. have a great time in Hawai'i! You remember, I got married on Kauai'i...we had such a great time!
Ginnie: Your little fella will be this age before you know it, Alex! It IS hard to believe it's been a year since your own wedding in Hawaii. I'll send you good thoughts while we're there.
You are a proud G'ma, I know you are and this big catcher once will be the hero of the match....this is a sharp picture of him and do you know what.......by just looking at him I know he knows what to do, I used to be a catcher for many years.
Love the tones and your POV.
I think you should let him read al the comments when he is with you, greetings from Zelda
Ginnie: You have seen Nicholas and me in action, lieve Astrid, so you know that I could just eat him up! I think about all the things you could teach him about being a catcher. Well, maybe one day you will. In the meantime, I'll have him read the comments. He'll get a kick outta them, for sure. Ontzettend bedankt.
il a l'air bien petit lui. mais, si ça se trouve, il est meilleurs que les adultes!
Ginnie: Little kids in adult-like bodies! I know, O-P. It makes you look twice.

First I thought a little 'being'/E.T. from an other planet/"Stern", but h e is y o u r star and "proud and joy" here on our earth and h e is a star in his catchers' position, he may be very lucky about this star-photo! Good wishes for all your familiy, then I guess we will see the next wedding- photo!
Ginnie: We grandmas get to pop all our buttons, Philine! It's our special heaven on earth. Thank you.
CongratulationsGinnie. He looks awesome with his gear on. Hope your daughters wedding is wonderful. Good luck to her. :o) John
Ginnie: He is awesome to me, John, of course. G'mas get to pop all their buttons! And thanks for the wishes for my daughter. We are so happy for her. She has found the love of her life.
Great shot of this strange game I can feel the pride glowing from the picture
Ginnie: I know it must look strange to you, Bill, but this is the American pasttime, as you know by now. It's ingrained into our collective subconscious!
Is there someone in all of that clothing? I am sure there is? He looks very focussed on the game.
I love the colour (or lack thereof). It could be a recent photo, or one from days gone by - I love that!
Ginnie: He's in there, Brian, but at that point in the season, I'm not sure he could see out of the mask! HA! He says it's his favorite position now. And yes, I did want to give it a timeless feeling, so thanks for noticing.
Nice shot Ginnie - he looks completely focused on the job in hand. Have a great time at the wedding.
Ingrid
Ginnie: I think he's focused on trying to figure out the uniform, Ingrid! HA! That particular game he was just sitting there. Later on in the season he started "getting" it. Thanks for your kind wishes for the upcoming wedding. We're all very excited.
Ginnie: It will be, I'm sure, Chris. We have been to the very spot where they will get married, so it's something to look forward to even more. Thanks.
Catcher! Tough spot. Matthew played it at that age and has since moved on to First Baseman. Ginnie, this is a superb shot. It deserves printing, matting, and framing.
Ginnie: I don't think Nicholas will play that spot for long since he doesn't have the body build for it, IMHO. But it sure was fun to see him all suited up. Thanks, Sherri.
He will be a big one ... ;-) - The situation and the emotions from a grandma - this mixture is not to beat!!!!!! Ginnie, realy, this is a so wunderfull capture i love it! Have a nice time on Hawaii.
Ginnie: You always know how to make my day, Klaus! Thank you.
That good it seems to me this photo, Ginnie. Your grandson is in a very likeable position but simultaneously concentrate is appraised to him very! Bravo! Ahhh and congratulations by the wedding! (again traveling, ehh. you never are stopped )
Ginnie: We never stop traveling, José-Angel, you are so right. This trip to Hawaii is one of the biggest of them all...in meaning! Thanks.
He's really got the gear down, doesn't he? And the squat looks pretty natural. Does he complain about sore knees afterwards?
It's so cool how you chronicle his comings and goings here.
Ginnie: In this shot, Ruth, early season, he couldn't even see through the mask. It was a riot. But eventually he figured it out and even started catching the pitches thrown. Just wait till you have your own grandkids.
Your "pride and joy" looks very much like a pro and he's a very lucky boy to have a granny such as you... "a memory's maker"...a collector of wonderful and great moments!
Hope you'll have a wonderful time in Hawaii!!
Ginnie: You know how I work, Lina. It's the best gift I can give him: memories. Thank you.
The title: Sports Illustrated; The Peeweeleague!
And this is the front cover. You caught a nice moment there Ginnie.
Have fun in hawaii, the place is dream of every day. Can't wait to see those pics.
Ginnie: You are such a sweetheart, Fausto. Thank you. The Hawaii pics are coming up.
I didn't realise catchers wore so much protective gear...its a wonder he can catch when so heavily armoured.
