At Zaanse Schans (yesterday's post) someone did a nice paint job! I would like that job. I had this image already queued before knowing about the new SC theme on Strength for today. This probably is not the photo I would have chosen but what I can say about Strength from this is that doing any job well says more about Strengt h to me than almost anything. Strength of will and Strength of character to do the job right! And that's saying nothing about the STRENGTH of these Dutch windmills that stand the test of time, catching Nature's Wind and chanelling it! Have a great weekend. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

If you want to see a reconstructed Dutch village all wrapped up into one neat package, go to Zaanse Schans outside of Amsterdam. Sure, it's a tourist trap. But who cares?! This was taken when we were there in March with my niece and her boyfriend. [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

This ends my series from the Michigan cottage over our July 4th holiday weekend. The lakewall at the beachfront is held together by railroad ties. It is symbolic for me of how our extended family is tied together. (This is for Astrid who would have seen this before she saw anything else!) [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

This is a short series of images from the Michigan cottage over our July 4th holiday weekend. What you don't see is 3 swimmers in the water crossing the lake and back. All of us had to do this at one point or another to "belong." (2 generations, 5 families, are represented in the boat) Have a great weekend! [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]
